He was decent too. Looked really up for the cup. There's no doubt he's an effective operator when focussed. Great option to come off the bench. I wouldn't be displeased to see him stay.

Is there no end to the 'Pep Effect' whereby players who have been seemingly written off, are rehabilitated with revitalised capabilities ??

First there was Kolarov, then Raheem and now Nasri.

Zabba also seems to have a useful Pep role in our ranks and when we bought Stones, the media condemnation was deafening but look at these players now. It's only early days but the signs are all so positive and giving grounds for a little optimism. Otamendi is looking much better and it's almost like signing new players.

It's just a pity that Bony and Yaya are apparently immune to the 'Pep Effect', whilst Mangala is probably a lost cause altogether.

And then there's Joe Hart, so who knows............

But you've got to hand it to the Pep Maestro; irrespective of how our season pans out, he seems to know how to handle players and get the best out of most of them.

If pep can see a use for him he should stay, I don't have any particular like or fondness for him but he is still a good option and still a good footballer, can see him contributing in this system.

This is true, but he has got a reputation of being lazy. I think he has all the attributes that would be a great asset in a Pep team, technically.
If Pep can get the desire to do it consistently into him and with the work rate required in the current system, then he truly is a genius.
I thought Nasri looked really eager to impress yesterday and was making the runs into the space with force. It's hard to guage though this early, who he was trying to impress. Is it possible suitors or does he genuinely want to fight his way into the team.
It's hard to know. But if Pep gets him playing, then he will be a great asset. If he is not up to 100% commitment, Pep won't entertain him.

How many time has Kolarov's effort or ability gone missing in big or small games? I like the guy and love his new role under Pep. But it's a bit rich for the guy with a man-crush with Kolarov to call other players out for going missing.

Nasri may buckle under pressure at times, but so have most of our squad over the years. And despite that, Samir has so much talent and ability to add to our team. He's like Delph, but 2x better (and I'm a fan of Delph).
