I just cannot see him play for us at all !!

When you see the crisp lightening passing and MOVEMENT we currently have, can you honestly see Yaya part of that ?

I can't .

I think Pep has justified his hard choices so far and I think the same applies to Yaya, although I think he may have been able to work miracles with Nasri.

Yaya only plays with the required level of intensity when we have the ball, defensively he was a liability and we can't afford a passenger in this system.

Exactly , he will be gone in January I think.

He will only leave if we pay him up to his contract. He is sitting it out and coining it in, football is secondary to him at the moment. We will pay up I think to get his negative approach out of the door asap.

With Gundogan on board and getting fit, hopefully, there will be no need or place for Yaya.
Even in the League Cup, you can see the likes of Garcia being a much more productive replacement. Pep wants players that are young enough to still want to learn and can slot into his system seamlessly. The academy has enough players that fit that bill and I think some will get their chance, finally.

Yaya, it's been great but so long, your time was really up last year, you stayed too long. Now you really need to move on.

This makes me sad.

It really does. Instead of leaving like a legend, he will leave from the backdoor and then he will moan in the media about us.

If we paid up his contract now, would he become a free agent and be able to sign for another club immediately? Or would he have to wait for a transfer window to open?

What would it be like if he was to get some game time before January?

Even when he was at the height of his powers, he used to get loads of stick from many of us - have a look at this thread for starters!

But if he was to get in the team now, even if it was for a 2 minute run around at the end of a meaningless game, I just expect him to get so much shit - although I desperately hope that this would not happen. It was so good to be able to say "thank you for the memories" when Joe was going, I would love to be able to do the same for Yaya.

What does he do? Simple draw his 220,000 per week. Silva De Bruyne Gundogan and Fernandinho all much better than him. He's been dropped with good reason. Look at the scum picking Rooney week after week. Pellegrini picked Yaya week after week despite all the evidence of an unacceptably low work rate. It was a mistake. Pep made of sterner stuff thank goodness.

such a relief not to see this lump on the pitch. feels like a huge weight(!) has been lifted. remember when we all thought his contract required the club to start him every match???

I think if he promises to run around a bit more and a bit faster off the ball he'll take the field in the cup this week. He then gets the chance to show he can ratchet up his activity for Pep's system and can play a part before the grand exit next year.

If he can't manage it he can be left to his own devices after Wednesday- and even hooked if he is negatively affecting the team on the night.
Come on Yaya, you're a legend old chap, leave us with a smile - and a hearty hi ho silvaaaaaa ;)

You only have to look at the swamp and what Shrek brings to the rags.

Sadly, Yaya has no place in our team any longer. He just doesnt cut the mustard. Rather him not play and not stink the place out to see him struggle and look ordinary. I'd prefer to remember as he was, not what he is

Sad it's come to this. Undoubtedly a quality player. I could just never take to him as a person so doesn't hurt at all.
