Mancini is the better manager for the long term but short term keeping Hughes was the right decision. Disrupting the management order halfway through a season is always a bad idea, I think Mancini will hit greater heights than Hughes but in terms of top 4 this season I think that was killed with the sacking of Hughes.

Sensible answer. I disagree that we lost the race for top 4 but I generally agree about sacking managers during the season. Upsets the balance and new manager has little time to instill his own ideas and get his own players in.

I do still prefer Mancini.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

What does that have to do with this topic? Some people might think Mancini is the man but would still prefer Hughes. In same fashion as if someone asked me If Mancini is the man, I'd answer "Yes" but if someone asked which one would I rather have as manager given the choice, Mancini or Mourinho, wouldn't be so sure anymore.

not even sure what that means
But is this the start of your Mancini Out (for Jose) campaign

I'm still enjoying your "have a little dig at Mancini every given chance" campaign from the sidelines.

Just out of interest, what did you vote?

spoiled my ballot paper, its a silly fucking poll.
And i'm not sniping at Mancini. He has my support

That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.

NQDP

what you referred to in the OP was wide of the mark. you misunderstood the premise of arguments put to you in the other thread, and as usual resort to a blustering attempt at polarising the argument - which is totally in keeping with your campaign against hughes.

The key to the Hughes in/out row was this. no one loved Hughes, no one wanted him given indefinate time or money - he was just the manager of MCFC, and in keeping with this a great many blues supported him and wanted him given some time in the job - something very few managers in my era have been given.

on the other side though, were people who hated him from day one. letting a childish obsession with the rags come between backing the manager of our beloved club. if you wanted hughes to be given the full season, you were a "hughes licker" "ragophile/rag lover" "head stuck in the sand" or "fucking clueless".

can you see the imbalance?

what i am taking issue with is the selfsame fellows who were Hughes biggest critics, ready to hammer their keyboards with vitriol every time someone dared to stick up for the manager of City appear to be making the same arguments defending the current City manager after a poor performance. it is hypocrisy, plain and simple.

oh, and being called slow. cheers for that one.

4th place is still very much in our sights. Deep down, I feel Mancini only needs to fine tune a few things in the squad because it's one of the strongest in the Premiership.

WOW - this must be the most self-centred - self-obsessed thread I have ever seen on this board

A number of well established members (and I most certainly do not mean myself) pull you up for blatant double standards and you use your mod privileges to start this spurious bollocks - presumably in some self-convincing belief that it will add strength to your failed position on the other thread

I will not vote because it does not have the option - or are you a genuine fan enough to just support the CITY manager because he is the CITY manager

Do you not have any mirrors in your house??

If so - take a hard look and stop diverting the board just to serve your need to sound oh so fucking wise - even when you have spouted bollocks

YOU get to choose now. Which one would you have in charge IF you were the owner and could choose.

No need to say the bleeding obvious by the way. This is purely hypothetical.

With all due respect, I can't help but feel that the real purpose of this thread is you giving yourself the platform to say "I told you so," as you know damn well which way the majority of people will vote. Mancini, yesterday - which was ruined by injuries - aside (although you might ask why he picked a team of barely fit players, but this is a whole other discourse), looks the business. I didn't want Hughes to be sacked and I think the club was justifiably criticised in the press for how they did it; Hughes was never unprofessional toward the club and deserved the same respect in return. That said, we move on. May I suggest you do the same?

For the record, I would rather have Mancini at the helm. I just disapprove of the way he got the job. I didn't vote, as I don't want to encourage you.

WHHHHAAATT??????

Not this bullshit again. What does "moderator priviledges" (and considering the amount of shit it often gets you, one might question what sort of priviledge it is in the forst place) have got to do with starting a poll?? Anyone with a legend status can start a poll. If it comforts you, I can tell you that I could start polls before I started helping out with running of this site.

Using my "moderator priviledges" would be deleting your stupid post or any other post about me rather than the actual subject. But hey ho, have I ever done that?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Not too bad considering we are just two weeks into new decade.

mate, the subject was correctly identified as spurious bollocks in 1632's post.

and my post was about your hypocritical arguments, not you as a person - care to address it?

and whats the policy on mods obeying the rules round here?
