I love City.
I absolutely adore the club.

My favourite memory is...I've got a couple!

1. My dad taking me to my first ever game. I was around about 8ish, we parked on the field for what I assume was a school opposite the shop that sold the printed tees on the corner at Maine Road. I was hooked when I saw all the City shirts everywhere! There and then I was sold on the club.

2. All the Junior Blues meetings on Sundays growing up. They were class.

3. Gillingham. For me this is more of a favourite memory than anything recently. We were shite. I thought I'd never see us win anything and even though it was only the Division 2 Play-Offs it meant the world to me! Everyone stuck together and we all got ourselves out of the mess we were in. Brilliant!

So why do you love the boys in blue?

Earliest memories are of being taken to Maine road (no clue what games now) and the place seeming like the biggest thing on earth. In my mind there were a million people kept in by 10 foot fences. That's what childhood will do I guess.

Then after that watching the Monday night prem highlights here in Australia and going out to the back garden the rest of the week and reenacting every goal. If we lost I just made new ones up.

Once we went down it was slim pickings for a long time, the game died here in general too. FIFA was my only exposure for years.

After that the sheer joy of getting city back on my tv as an adult and watching the likes of SWP, fowler and Sinclair score against united as we had a good run of doing them in a few times around then. Then the obsession came back for good when I came back and watched 3 games under Pearce before the worst of that run. I came back a year later, but even the barren run of no goals couldn't sour me. What a ride it's been!

I still think about my first game. Barnet at home in the League Cup. I wanted to go after my dad had been West Ham at home, won 3-0, and from that point I was hooked. My second game was the 5-2 against Spurs, sat on the open Kippax with a bin bag over my knees.

I just loved that final derby at Maine Road. the PA system broke and the whole ground just took over. The first 8 minutes until we scored there was just an electrifying entertainment.

My other favourite moment was against Norwich in 2002 when Tiatto was sent off early doors and Berkovic just picked them apparat. That second goal where Berkovic takes Carlo Nash's throw on the chest on the half way line and then takes on four before putting it under Rob Green will live me my entire life.

Signing Mick Channon. The return of SWP and beating the Rags at Wembley in the Cup semi final. Probably the best memory of all though was Steve Getrard Gerrard, falling over. The media meltdown......the Blue having the bottle the dippers lacked.

The later stages of the 67/68 season, going to the Swamp in a midweek game and stuffing the Scum in their own back yard......followed by the last day victory, away to Newcastle, to win the title.

Also, Colin Bell's comeback game, at half time, after being out for ages after being crocked in the League Cup by the Scum. It was a 40 odd thousand crowd and when the King came on the pitch for the second half, the place went mental. Never heard so much sustained noise before or since.

My first game was 3-3 Nov 6th 1971, two weeks after Neil Young last sat on the subs bench for us. Loved every minute apart from the Alan Ball era, that was fucking difficult.

I hear stories of people saying "my brother supported arsenal so I had to support Tottenham" or similar. I don't get that mentality. My Dad, older brother and cousin all support City so why would I choose not to share that with them? We had so many great times together at City and in the car to and from matches. I miss the three of them more than they can imagine.

The team have gone from brilliant (76-77) to shite (83-2000 ish) and back to brilliant again (now) in my time as a Blue and I wouldn't change a second of it.

One of my highlights is the Stoke game at home in Division Three. That second half when the whole ground just seemed to decide to intimidate Stoke. I'll never forget that atmosphere. We won 2-1 and despite some setbacks haven't really looked back since then.

First game at Maine Road for me was april 1987 against Arsenal 3:0 Varadi 2 and Paul Stewart. Went to this game with little in the way of expectation, but on a warm and sunny spring day in Manchester (another surprise) we were deserved winners.

I used to travel up for a good few games around this time, was at the 10-1 v Huddersfield, an extraordinary match for a number of reasons, not least because we had 3 hatrick heroes that day but up until McNab opened the scoring we had been outplayed!

Too many memorable moments to try and pick some highlights in terms of ranking (obvious ones aside of course) so whilst my first home game was spring 1987 my last was spring 2014 v West Ham when we clinched the title by winning 2-0 (Nasri, Kompany) lots of ups and downs in between!

I also love city. I don't quite remember when it happened I've been going to the match since I was about 5 (1987).

I've seen some utter shit but it was good. They've made me laugh and cry sometimes in the same game.

I'll never forget Wembley 99 or getting relegated at home to Liverpool Quinn urging the players on only half dressed.

And now we get the good times and my son who's 11 thinks it's always been this good.

I was born in Stoke and was about 4 or 5 and was watching football on the TV and I just latched on to Frannie Lee and became obsessed thereafter. I have no connection with Manchester, its just one of those curious cards that life deals. If id not been watchinf tv at that moment that day, things might have been very different. My dad took me to my first City game away at Stoke to see my hero. He looked as though he'd had 15 pints and a curry the night before. We lost 5-1......I remember Terry Conroy scoring for stoke. I can't remember who scored for City.
I'm 55 and live in Swansea now and still have the same passion and love for my club. If we don't win the league this season I won't be too upset unless Liverpool or United win it. I despise the media bias towards them which was never more evident when they thought they'd won it a couple of years ago... .

Hard to say, being a foreigner, every memory in Manchester was a great one. I can name our first game I attended on Maine Road, it was with Forest, or home on Eastlands. Or first derby.

But I will go with two that are a bit different

1. Trying to see online United - City on 2008, when they had the plane crash anniversary and we won 2-1. I had a really poor internet provider and also a shite river, so I had 20-25 minute delay. It was terrible, but loved every single second.

2. My mum sewing the name Goater on a sky blue shirt, normal one, that my dad got from a chinese market near Bucharest then going out and play football and felt special in a ~sea~ of Zamorano, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Papin, Zidane, etc shirts.

Also, my love for City helped me cope with the tragedy which romanian football really is and what happened with my local club.

You couldn't have spoken a truer word (or, rather in this case, words).

I was very young in 1955 when the Cup Final was being played. Every one had been invited round to a neighbour's house to watch it (they were the only ones in the street with a TV) and, although City went down to 10 men after 19 minutes, when right back Jimmy Meadows was taken off injured (in those days there were no substitutes), all our neighbour's were still rooting for Newcastle.

They were all praising the way the Geordies were performing but my Dad said at one point "but that German goalie is playing really well". After that, I specifically watched our 'Bert' in action and although City ran out losers 3-1, he was my hero from that day on and I was well and truly 'hooked'.

I've never broken free since...............or even wanted to.
