MotM v Burnley

Postby Beefymcfc » Sat Nov 26, 2016 2:32 pm

A difficult game which a few shone. Loved Fernandinho and Serg showed why he is one of the best in the world. A diffucult game but we overcame.

Gave it to Fern but tempted to give it to Bravo for sheer excitement, what a final save, what a good showing today!

I like that Sergio is not getting any votes so far and my guess he will not get many. People saw he was shit and is for a while now, even if he scored.

He looks like he lost his hunger.

A tad harsh, I wouldn't call him shit overall, but it's one fucking awful slump is true.
A couple of goals doesn't prove he's out of the woods yet, and he still looks off-form AF.
It's like there's a real disconnect going on

I don't think he should be credited with the 2nd goal, it should go down as banked shot from Fern1.

Fern 1 & 2 & Yaya were solid. Shame that too many around them had off days. Sterling, Aguero (with 2 goals lol), defense, and Nolito all well below par.

Otter is a strange one. Some brilliant tackles, but equal amount of clumsyness. Kind of like a more defensive version of David Luiz .

Fucking hell, Aguero is shit!

Laughable, I still am. You fucking lunatic!

What made me laugh was Savage saying that Sergio knew nothing of it but when replayed you could see him watch the ball all the way onto his leg. Is that a lucky goal, I think not. Determined in my view.

Yes, bad use of words, my apologies.

Out of form? Absent? Not the same? He is just a bit different for me, like he is playing from inertia.

Yup. Not shit, but definitely off. He's more and more likely to go on these straight line solo runs where he loses the ball surrounded by 3 or 4 players. And if he keeps it, then our attack has been slowed to a halt and has to be reset.

Some more quick layoffs, 1-2 passing, and dynamic runs across defenders would do him wonders

I think not having a game or any travelling to do for a week will do him, and others, the world of good.

Kolarov - decent game at centre half today.

I agree with you both to some extent but what I'm seeing lately is a complete change to what we've seen in the past. We used to play to Aguero's strengths but now he seems so disjointed from the system, left up as a lone striker with nobody to feed off or open the space. Not sure why Pep is still asking him to play there when what he wants is a Messi running in from behind.

Adapt him, don't hinder him.

Still people couldn't wait to moan about his long balls. If he fucked about with it at the back ala Stones the other week and got caught out he'd get crucified!

Huge 3 points , we were never fluid but I didn't really expect us to be today . Pep clearly has plenty up his sleeve for the big games ahead by resting key players and changing formation / tactics . Fern1 was superb again today in difficult circumstances top man ! A shout also for Bravo who was very steady .
Not really here
