They don't have to be better than Yaya or Kun. Just as long as they're no worse than the likes of Sinclair, Rodwell, Fernando, Kolarov, Nastasic or any other dross we've spanked millions on over the years.

That's my stance on it as well. They don't need to be first 11 as long as they are first 25. Someone like Garcia for example from what little I've seen of him should be good enough to get into cup games, easier home matches and a subs appearance here or there. Iheanacho same deal and possibly Diaz although Doug/twosips would have a much better handle on that than me.

It's not like our depth is so amazing that space couldn't be made for these sorts of players.

In the next few years, as the Chinese League gears up to dominate the footballing world and garner all the top and middle ranking players into its midst, the Premier League may well start to struggle financially, before completely imploding.

If/when this does happen, our Academy will become even more important and players produced there, in the future, could well find an easier path into the first team than hitherto. In this respect, we should be in a far better position than many of our immediate rivals.

Football in this country might well revert more to the state of affairs which existed before the Premier League 'came about', give or take a load of bankruptcies and overall financial retrenchment.

While it does appear as thought China has money to burn right now you have to remember that this is the 6 or so rich sides who can only field either 5 or 6 players each(can't remember their homegrown rule exactly), so I don't see the majority of talent heading east.

I reckon the Italians and Spanish said something like that when Klinnsman, Bergkamp and Zola started the migration.

The Chinese don't fuck about. They want to win the World Cup. In 10 years time I reckon we'll all know the names of half a dozen Chinese clubs, some of us will support and watch the league.

Mr Chigorins post seems quite prophetic. The European Superleague may be required to stop the flow.

And I think it's Monaco just with a couple more teams thrown in.

Also you support Dalian and don't you fucking forget it. You better know why as well.

Not all spend as much as Guangzhou Evergrande or Shanghai SIPG, but the club Witsel went to, Tianhin Quanjian, was just promoted for the first time. 4 foreigners can be fielded. Some popular names:

Guangzhou Evergrande: Alan, Paulinho, Jackson Martínez
Jiangsu Suning: Ramires, Alex Teixeira
Shanghai SIPG: Oscar, Hulk
Shanghai Shenhua: Tevez, Demba Ba, Fredy Guarín, Obafemi Martins
Beijing Guoan: Renato Augusto
Tianjin TEDA: John Obi Mikel
Tianjin Quanjian: Witsel
Hebei China Fortune: Lavezzi, Gervinho, Mbia
Shandong Luneng: Pellè, Papiss Cissé

Although it now looks like this kind of spending was not quite what the government had in mind when President Xi Jinping voiced his hopes & ambitions regarding Chinese football:

As the Chinese would say: 水满则溢
