It has to be asked. Would you like to see Yaya get an extension to his contract?

I think his deeper role has extended his career expectancy, if Pep actually wants him(which I think we've covered at length) then hell yes.

Not sure there's an option for 'hell yes'.

Pep fucked up with his arrogant stance at the start of the season, so yes , keep him underweight for two more seasons , he will produce.

Extend yes. But I think he's probably one of if not the best midfielder to play in the premier league

Exactly. Needed an 'extend and when China come calling we will get a proper fee for him' option.

Like I said in the other thread, I think that had very little to do with Yaya. It was more about Pep v Seluk.
However in saying that, Yaya looks decidedly fresher than everyone right now, maybe not playing the first dozen games has helped him.

And the fact we were playing brilliantly at the start of the season.

On the field a City legend. Lots of water under the bridge since the summer. Also a lot more football to be played before the seasons out. Assuming he is in the revised CL squad and has a good end to the season, he should get another year at least.

Seems to be playing better when his future is uncertain - rolling contract? Nice to see him all smiles with Pep when he came off the pitch tonight

I don't think Pep did anything wrong with Yaya. He got his message across, Yaya got his head down and we now have a fitter player than we would have had at the start of the season. He is being used intelligenly as well with limited running in games but being asked to control games which he is so good at.
If he carries on like this he is a more than usefull player to have around even if he is 45

45. Mmmmm, that's a lot of cake to have floated down the old alimentary canal Mr H.
However, if he stays fit and slimmed down and is used intelligently, then it's a no brainer as he can be a definite asset to the squad.

No doubt for me that Yaya is the best in the league at controlling the game fron the back. The questionable bit is can he push himself to recover from breaks or mistakes?
So far the answer is yes. If he keeps that effort up then he can play a huge part this and possibly next season.
