Don't care Beefy, he has every right to be pissed off, the play calls for a pass. The next time he wont run and kun will pass. Selfish from kun. He must understand this team will always make opportunities.

I was delighted to see him have that reaction when 5-0 up desperate for a goal for himself and showing he cares. Thought he played really well tonight

Funny how they say we need to buy a striker but don't even mention the biggest attacking talent in South America coming in a few days

haha thought the same. Perhaps they don't know!

I heard Wright say we need new full backs. Did he say Striker as well?

Quite a surprise Beefy but, when there seems to be a little bit more of a level playing field, we go and produce a more satisfying performance and result, playing with a bit of calmness and some authority..

A nice win tonight in what could have been a highly problematic away fixture; let's hope our League form can now flourish, using tonight as a springboard for the rest of the season.

a total mixture of thoughts tonight. Superb win of course and I don't buy that WHU just didn't turn up. It was competitive up to the goal and then they could easily have scored immediately after. But then some great play took the game away from them and it turned into a stroll. The movement was much much brighter and we basically ripped them apart.

Silva was magnificent and I liked the team set up and I reckon Sterling plays centrally very well. We dominated midfield totally which is what Pep loves and with Silva,Yaya and KDB who all have a good touch and control it was easy but it was weird that we were virtually never under pressure. Yaya and Zaba are both very slow but never pressured. Didn't make sense and it won't happen in the next 2 games v Everton and Spurs.

Let me enjoy my bubble mate. There were issues in reporting for the first 20 but we won them over. I'm hoping we can do the same in every game and we'll see what comes of our next game.

For what it's worth, I think West Ham were in it right up until the penalty. I wasn't expecting this. You'll see my first post in this thread was predicting a 2-1 win. One day I sincerely hope West Ham fans get the success they deserve. You need to move out of the shadows of your London rivals and be a force in your own right.

I'll disappear now and leave you to the post mortem.

I thought tonight that our back line was going to come under some severe pressure from balls in the air being played up to Carroll and Antonio.

Overall, however, it didn't quite pan out that way, which was very pleasing and a testament, to some lesser or greater extent, to the volume of possession we had, which contributed towards curtailing their options for playing this type of game.

Might be different though when we next go there in the League and they might consider that their best chance is to give us a proper aerial 'bombardment' testing and to forget about trying to play football.

It is a horrible stadium and I feel for the West Ham fans. I think this comment on the guardian summed it up:

I feel bad for the Hammers, all year, you can see they are not the man they used to be, like the guy in that Beatles song. They lost themselves, chasing after the big city lights. Reminds me of a folk song, beautiful but sad song, excellent to drink to, about this guy from the village who goes to the big city with big intentions, and he gets lost there, and he remembers his old mother and old village house among the happy big city folk and lights, and how his mom hugged him and said 'be careful out there son', and write to us.

And he gets lost, starts wandering the big city lights and streets, getting married and divorced from the big city bars and pubs and places of such smoky repute, living in some shack on the city outskirts, looking at the rich and happy city lights and people, wasting his poor father's last shilling. And some city lady he met, she does a number on him of course, so now he's just wandering the big city lights lamenting his wasted youth and life, standing like a lonely disappointed Slaven Bilic on those city touchlines, remembering his old house and mother, that's all that's left.

That's how it is, you think you want to be a big shot, howl with the big dogs, that's what they tell you you want to do, and then your life becomes a folk song, and you can't go back now, it changed you, it beat you down like a stray dog who's got a limp in one of his hind legs, and all that's left is memories of what could have been. You had all you wanted, you were perfect where you were, but you didn't know, and now you got nothing. It's another mighty tale of life and football, as old as football itself. And that's why people love the PL, you don't get this in Fiorentina.

But Kevin had a good game you negative fucker. His passing was what most players dream of.

just got to watch it and i know complaining after a 5-0 win is absurd, but im a pessimist so..

wtf is up with Pep playing players out of position? i know he's done that everywhere before and even at City previously but Nolito in the middle? he had zero impact in the 35 mins on the pitch (excluding the corner assist since that's not on the pitch).

as mentioned in the other thread Zaba is wasted in midfield. woeful West Ham made him look better in that role.

the one i do like..sort of...is Kevin dropping to left back when we're being pressed in our own half. i imagine this is the role he wanted Laporte to fill and has tried with Aleks. a player who can pass out of the back when the team is under pressure. the problem with Kevin doing it is it completely takes him away from the areas where he's dangerous. I've noticed him in this role in a few other matches previously. maybe this is why he hasn't been as influential recently.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

^^^ I hate to be negative but let me quickly bang out a few paragraphs anyway.

5-0 and all that but I won't dizzy myself with a single positive. Oh and no impact (minus an assist). Let the hits keep rolling!

Apparently corners have to be taken off the pitch and therefore don't count.

I assume the same applies for penalties, Yaya will be distraught to find out he didn't score a goal.

On the positive side though, Adrian broke his line by a good four feet and dove the right way and still got nowhere near it, Yaya is a machine from the spot.

When we won the penalty I wasn't sure who would take it as both Aguero and Yaya were on the pitch, but it's great that Yaya has clearly been designated as the number one penalty taker.

His record is phenomenal from the spot. Best of all, the keepers don't even come close to saving them.

All I have to say is how throughoutly entertained I was. Nice 90 minutes of football. Well done.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
