Terrific analogy JC.

Very nice indeed. :D

Mase wrote:When he was talking about the empty seats then said "I know it was only Southampton"..what does that mean?! Southampton finished above Liverpool last year, they've just made it further in the cup than them, Liverpool buy all their players. So what's his point? "It's only Southampton" what, a team that's better than you?

Who do Liverpool fans think they are?! Do they genuinely believe that they're something special?

Watched the clip and ment to post exactly same thing. "Top 6 clubs yada yada.... four nil down yada yada.... no cups for five years yada yada". Arrogance on top of arrogance and then he goes on belittling traditional club like Southampton. Is this guy any better than people he is talking about?

Yes yes, he is a scouser and local and better than day trppers and whatever but haven't Liverpool been tourist club since about inventio of television and their glory years? Same goes for un**ed.

Besides that kid is too young to remember "the good old days" anyway. That kiddo was born after the invention of Premier League.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Furthermore, shouldn't he, as "hardcore" be happy that casual fans don't give a shit about Liverpool anymore? Those empty seats are gloryhunters missing you know.

I coach kids football. Had them in center circle on training the other day and asked them all what's their favourite football club. One third of them said City. There was time and age when there was LITERALLY handful of City fans in these parts of the universe. 32 years of supporting City do I feel that these kids in remote parts of Europe are terrible gloryhunters? Absolutely not. These people will bring money to club I love for decades to come probably til the day I die and keep us competitive. I'm way past that "keeping it real" shit. We are succesfull and relevant club, something I could never have dreamed of, and I'm fucking enjoying it. I don't long for "old days" as some seem to do. But then, that's just me.

The atmosphere was better in the olden days but I attribute a lot of that to us being shite. I think what can sterilises football is supporting a team that wins trophies or is expected too.

Some city fans IMO have become spoilt and the atmosphere has changed to people moaning if we're not 3-0 by half time. Some seem to think we have some divine right to win stuff and don't get behind the boys properly.

I would say last week was the first time in a long time that the crowd got behind the team as we had, had a difficult week and we were the underdogs and playing an inform Spurs. I really enjoyed it and I'm sure the players were lifted by it. There were no more or no less day trippers there last week than any other week but the atmosphere was decent.

There is still a hardcore of proper old school blues but we have to accept that times have changed massively and we have a influx of "new fans". They might not to be everyone's cup of tea but they are the ones who will buy all the shirts and merchandise. I defiantly don't...

pardon?

he could well have been saying just that, although I don't think he was a scouser

Ever been to a concert these days and seen the entire crowd holding up their phones?

It's a sign of the times.
