It's getting a bit good isn't it?

It would be nice to see us go on a bit of a run.

Besides the goal Kev wasn't upto much this evening.
The pace of that attack with Silva and Yaya to pick them out was sublime though.
I always said Pep would get it right.

Very first post so be kind. I'm a 59 year old fan since 1966. Don't think I've EVER been so excited about a group of players as I am after today. Don't give a fuck about this season, but Christ I can't wait until next.

I've started looking after my health a bit more recently as I want to see where this team ends up.

Picked the pass for the penalty too.
Not a bad return for an off day.

Kev didn't have an off day or even a quiet day but his role has changed a bit so he doesn't have to be on the front line and can sit a little deeper and dictate with Merlin and Yaya a little deeper.

Any thought that WHU were just crap should be dispelled. For a while it looked like it was going to be a tough game for us with them defending deep and in numbers and likley to be a threat on the break. Part of out game now when we are getting it right is pressing and two goals came from that today. We force a mistake and then the pace and quality of the break is sensational. Do that and score goals and the oppos are bound to struggle.Get the whole game right and of course the oppos will look poor .

Damn right I won't. Did you hear the commentator seemingly desperate to get Jesus sent off for the foul that wasn't a foul! Even in the 2nd half he still brought it up.

And let's go to Howard Webb.
No that wasn't a penalty. His arm was by his side.

I was surprised Webb was actually there as they didn't call on him till the 2nd half and I thought there were two very dangerous challenges by WHU in the first half which went unpunished. In today's world I was thinking red!

Exactly. With that front 3 KDB and Silva can operate in a slightly deeper role and be even more effective as was shown tonight. This formation allows KDB to orchestrate the attacks from a deeper position and make late runs into the box once the front 3 have tied the back 4 in knots with their speed and trickery. I think this new setup will suit those 2 down to the ground as it relies less on their pace and running and more on their vision and passing ability which are their main strengths and the finishing ability of KDB. It is a fearsome 5 pronged attack
