Usually, when you have some injury like that in the first minutes is because you did not warm up good. Usually the players and the fitness coach do that before the game.
Our staff has a reputation when it comes to this. Jesus was not a sicknote according to the data on his profile. Playing almost 4 full games then get injured that bad after you came back from a break, it all comes down to the fitness regime you had in this period of time. When he was still in Brazil, my guess is that he had instructions how to keep himself fit until it comes in England.

Who broke the news?
Hopefully it was the Star or the Mirror
It broke from journalists from Diario SPORT and Onda Cero Radio who I both think are from Spain.

That's Twosips and co at mcfcwatch isn't it, no disrespect to him/them but they just follow the pack on newsnow....
Bit unfair that mate, they're usually ahead of the game. They monitor foreign football news from selected journos and pick things up a lot quicker than the British press pack do.

It's an impact injury though. Does fitness regime even come into it?

I think so, yes. Read a while back about the difficult regime that top players have to keep themselves fit. One example was Tranny who has a different fitness coach from his collegues at Real Madrid. The squad trains and follows the one from the club, Tranny has one independently. And to be fair, his record speaks for himself.
I have no idea who our fitness coach is. If he was brought by Pep or is the same under Pellers, but the numbers under him ar really bad. You can watch the whole saga with Kompany who trained with a fitness coach from Belgium, but also with ours also.
It comes in my mind a funny story. Shaqiri told some tv station a while back that when he was at Inter, he got himself injured, so Mancini tired of the club doctors game him instructions to go in central europe, in the moutains, to search for a witchdoctor, the famous Mariana. Maybe we need that at the club.
