to be honest i thought they added to the atmoshpere , especially that smoke covering the air just before kick off. as long as no one was hurt with them i didnt mind.

That's the thing, I've been hit with them, and they don't injure (no more so than brushing your arm against a lightbulb on a desk lamp). They could potentially damage seating, though, but that would have to be intentional.

I think a welsh fan died after being hit by one mate

That was a firework. Against Romania, in about '94. Got hit in the throat by something launched from the opposite side of the ground. Big difference.

I thought it was a flare? ok then, my memory is not what it used to be ;-)

Because we prefer bootlegs or straight legs here

Nice, was working on my own joke but you beat me to it!

Unbelievably stupid to let us all out at the same time. No surprise it was kicking off royally, tons of police with dogs and batons, plenty of batons being used as well.

Was fairly easy not to avoid getting involved, but you do worry about some halfwit trying to prove himself to his nobhead mates, some Gery Neville type.

I think they look awesome and actually look on the net every so often to see if I can find blue ones. Or even blue smoke flares. No such luck though. I have to admit, I have a great interest in the ultra scene. I have Greek and Serbian members in the family so like to keep an eye out for Olympiakos and Red Star Belgrade (both have massive respect for eachother) I just see their games and love the passion and atmos they create. Think the atmos needs spicing up in english football .

Showing there class as usual then what a bunch of retarded70's cunts they are.

I was pretty ashamed when someone threw a lighter at one of their players tbh.

I was too, you would have thought the thrower would have at least engineered it into a molotov cocktail.

Totally agree, they looked good and they put them out when the lights went back on, didn't bother me in the slightest. As has been said there was no sign of any trouble at the North end of the ground.

The police are off their heads not keeping them in at the end. I'll bet they won't make that mistake at their place, they'd be heading for a disaster of biblical proportions, Old Testament, real wrath of God type stuff, fire and brimstone coming down from the skies, rivers and seas boiling, forty years of darkness, earthquakes, volcanoes, the dead rising from the grave, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria! ;o)

You need to find ones with a Selenium (Se) salt, if I remember my chemistry correctly. If they're even made, that is.

I agree, they look top!

Back to the guy who died....I know you said it was a firework but was it not actually a maritime distress flare (the ones fired up into the sky from ships in trouble). I saw it on TV and it didn't look like no firework I've ever seen??
