With such a poor set of defenders, I really struggle to see how the youngsters can do much worse.
Can Tosin really be that much worse than Otamendi, Stones and Kolarov? Can Maffeo or Angelino really be that much worse than Zabaleta or Clichy?
No. I agree that this was an opportunity for pep to give the young players a chance and he didn't bother. I don't understand why he didn't as they have looked good when given a game.
Entirely agree. What happened to Pep being bold with youth? Besides his reluctance with Tosin, Maffeo and Angelino, when the choices are not up to much right now, there is the vexed question of Nacho, when there isn't a single other striker available.
I'm not sure he is as brave with youngsters as we were lead to believe.
he's under real pressure. would you stick untried youngsters into the mix if you were in his situation?

It's a fair point but....
I don't think Nacho can be described as untried.
Is Tosin that much more of a risk than Kolarov at centre half?
And under pressure would you trust your future to Otamendi and Co?
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

What a dickhead. No need to take the piss especially when you are playing for fucking Southampton.
Not required quality anyway.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

And some doubted we'd ever see van Dijk in a City shirt

I'm just wondering, at this stage of the season, rather than trying buy someone at exorbitant prices, if there's any acceptable defenders out there with whom we could arrange loans spells until the end of the season ??
I can't think of anyone just now but someone might have some suggestions.....or is this just a rubbish idea ??

Rumour is £25,000 per week. If it's true I hope this is not simply a financial decision by the club and the lad has the potential for a genuine long-term future with us. I'd love a Manc in the team.

I would imagine it's a bit of both ROI whilst giving him the opportunity. If he doesn't fit then he is under contract and we get a fee rather than allowing him to leave for nothing and then a tribunal fee
