I remember him being distinctly rubbish.

At least he can cover the left back and defensive midfield positions as well.

I find it intriguing that the idea that Brazilian defenders are actually worthwhile has shifted over the last 2-3 seasons. Previously they were derided for only attacking and being poor at defending. Now Luiz, Alex Sandro, & Danilo are moving for big fees (or being priced extremely high in Sandro's case) while Dani Alves and Marcelo were thought of as some of the best at their positions last year.

I'm still not on board.

Chelsea have agreed a fee of £70m with Madrid for Alvaro Morata. It remains just to pass a medical and agree personal terms. Good signing if it happens
