Finally L'Equipe is definitive. It's a deal. We absolutely had to have him and Monaco have made us pay through the nose. With Walker and Mendy we'll be miles stronger than last season. He will fit in well here and provide us with pace, skill and crossing along the left. It's the best of kola and clichy in one to me.

Bony has qualities, but his confidence is clearly as low as ever, lacked the pace needed, was older, and Mendy isn't here to score goals.

The lad was mint against us and in other CL games I saw and has room for growth. I like his character as well. We need some of that in the team. The rest are too serious all of the time. The team needs some brightening as long as there remains focus.

It's a risk, sure. So are many signings clubs make. We are in dire need of a left back who causes problems for the opposition with our setup.

Its just I have a bad feeling about this whole transfer saga mate and also Mendy,s attitude . I do a bit of twitter stuff and this guy seems eccentric to say the least and maybe only in it for the money . I guess this is modern football summed up in a nutshell today , lets all hope he knuckles down and becomes a great full back for Manchester City .He does have a few including me to win over though the cunt !

He's a 23 and one of the best – or at least most promising – fullbacks in the world. He's basically been our main target this window. How is that comparable to an ad hoc January signing like Bony?
