I'm not sad to see him leave, which is a disappointing end in fairness. So much potential wasted.
Tracking back is overrated.

At least seven still in the departure lounge - off in the next few days surely?
Bony, Mangala, Zinchenko - to make room for Sanchez & Martin or foreign whoever -
Delph to make room for Evans or homegrown whoever -
Roberts, Denayer, Tosin - for experience or whatever -

Yeah, you're right, perhaps I was a bit too harsh. I reckon the adulation he's been getting there is a factor as well. Still, I think it would have been good for him to prove himself in the PL.

I agree with you here, but I also suspect he is not capable of doing so.

I reckon we screwed them for a big loan fee. Well, as big as it gets for Celtic

I'm in Edinburgh today and the Scottish Metro has a big article on Roberts headlibed he 'had to beg Pep For Celts OK'. Not actually much new, he says he had to convince Pep it was the best place to develop his skills rather than Southampton or Nice. Seems it is based on how much he enjoyed last season, and his feelings for the club and team mates. He also says he can develop with the manager and coaches. He does add that Celtic wanted to sign him permanently but City wouldn't sell and 'its good that Pep wants to keep me involved. My mindset is to improve every day, then hopefully reach the highest level that I can'.

They didn't mention the fact that Celtic were willing to pay less than what we bought him for?
I'm certain that's also a big reason we weren't looking to sell.
