I think you're all being a bit harsh on Robinho. He's trying his nuts off, just that nothing's coming off for him. It's like he's trying too hard, trying to prove something before he's supposedly off.

He's putting himself about and trying to link up when we're going forward. He's just a classic Brazilian though, knows nothing about team play and his endeavours ultimately are costing us.

He is trying though.

If we can score a few more Cunningham could get a run out too. Save the big guns for the scum game, maybe give SWP a few more minutes as well.

The defence is all over the place.

The linesman is a m***ch.

Benjani and Robbie oh dear.

De-jong and Ireland only played for the last ten minutes.

It aint over yet!

Seriously, WTF are you lot smoking, Robbie has been more in the game than for around 12 months, lots of nice touches, two or three weakly pushed off the ball and lots of total lack of confidence in shooting. So pretty much what we've come to expect from him, if you expect him to battle then you really have missed the point, he just isn't that type of player, and we know from experience that he struggles to score when low on confidence, he needs a tap in and then would be transformed

Stevie had a really quiet spell, looking rusty but getting into the game as the half went on, a pass like that will boost his confidence too.

Ibrahim is still a little bit raw but has definitely deserved his place so far.

Hopefully a rocket up them to raise the tempo and we'll get a couple more goals, we REALLY need to not need Bellers in this game, we need him 100% ready for midweek

Considering the line up not too bad - Ireland lacking matchtime and fitness and poor linesman haven´t helped - Fulham were much worse yesterday - just a bit disappointed we didn´t go for them after the early goal - we should get a couple more if we stick at it

think everyone is going well ott with robbie. He is always showing, providing an option and has done some nice little passes, his shooting has been awful, but its obvious from the way he his striking the ball his confidence is rock bottom. He just needs something to come off, lets get behind our players.

then again, if the rumours about Santos loan deal are true, he will NEVER again play for us so it doesn't really matter anymore either way.

I agree. He's even been putting himself into some meaty challenges. He's not shirking anything. As I said, I'm seeing him trying but things aren't working for him. But to deny his efforts today suggests a myopic agenda.

Stevie's doing alright. He's never really been a midfielder for holding the line and tackling. Whenever he's had the ball he's spread it about and opened up roads quite nicely.

Agree mate.
He hasn't set the world alight tonight but he's trying (by his standards quite lot tbh)..

And on another note. What the fuck is it with you guys tonight? Whining all the time!
Everyone expected us to play a weakened side tonight, but when it was unveiled tonight huge amount of whining started. And like I've already said, our line-up isn't that bad anyway. We've got Really good players out there in Robbie, Petrov, de Jong, Ireland, Kompany and ONuoha. And we've some decent fringe players who would walk straight into our opponents line-up in Sylvinho, Benjani.. and we've couple of promising youngsters out there in Ibrahim and Boyata. What's the problem? I'd expect that team to beat Scunthorpe everyday!
We're now 2-1 up and going through. Even when it was 1-1 I was all the time confident in our team and never felt like there would be much of a chance that we might go down.

Get a grip lads. We're the famous Man City and we're going to wemberley!

Presumably that linesman was struck blind just before their goal! No dodgy decisions in our favour in this half unfortunately

Robinho has been poor and whether he is trying is open to opinion. What I want to see from him isnt chasing around or going into tackels but actually showing that he wants the ball and then when he gets it do something or at least try. So far he has had a few very very poor efforts on goal when a good player in almsot all of those cases would have looked for a pass or a 1 , 2 or something.I know that is partly a confidence thing but to me it shows a lack of effort where i want to see it most and that's when on the ball.

Ironically he's ill and has been replaced.
