Strikes me that that’s the long term aim.
I really think he’ll be fine even before the end of this season.
When I see him being brought on in the last 10-15 minutes of games for Sterling or Sane, it doesn’t make me think he’s here as a winger.
I feel quite confident that between him David and Kev we will retain the ball and see out the remainder of the game tormenting the opposition into submission. He’s not a traditional winger and he shouldn’t be judged on being played out there in games such as last night.
The guy has fabulous technical ability and once up to speed will be understudy to David IMO.
Let him get familiar with the team and he’ll be fine.
I think he might find Foden more than a match over time though, they both have the same skill-set, game and stature but Phil is quicker and has a more powerful shot

That may be so, however the larger than life carrot we could go for is having TWO merlin like operatives in the next few years..
that really would be something.
Either way the competition is good to have.
