Problem is though, that after chance after chance after chance, he has failed for OVER A YEAR, to turn in any more than one or two half decent performance, Everton Away is the one example, in a sea of utter dreadfulness.
Now take all the bullshit and hyperbole out of it, if his name was Benjani/RSC/Goater, we would want him hung drawn and quartered, he has been cut more slack by city fans than ANY player who has ever gone before.
If he doesnt have what it takes mentally to take the shit on the chin, and crack on, then he is not a professional footballer, as that is part and parcel of the game. How much shit did Ronaldo get - now there is a professional footballer with the right attitude, difference between him and Robbie is not talent, Robbie is arguably the more talented, but their different evolutionary paths are 100% down to attitude.
City fans have, and still will (if he doesnt leave) supported him through thick and thin, and we have gotten nothing back off him, not a fucking thing for over a year. All I want from him now is our money back, he is a fraud

The way it has appeared to me is that I have enjoyed watching him play in almost every game.I watch every game that is available on a stream so have watched nearly all of his performances for us and a few when he was at RM aswell.
This season I dont think he has been cut much slack, not as much as you say. From what I've read and seen the media have had a go at him from day one, using the stick of his away performances as being substandard and using it as a of way of calling him a failure. To me he performed to the level of the rest of the team, at least and, the fact we were not very good away from home last year gave some creedance to the media stories. It did seem to give a platform for the flop stories to continue and his injury and drought in front of goal just seemed to be fuel to the fire.I personally dont think he has been as bad as has been relayed by the media and is now being believed by our fans. The media seem to have succeeded.

As I've said before, people have different views and seem to show them in different ways. Bit like Hughes, he'll only be able to prove himself if he's here.
One thing I know, It won't be as enjoyable if he goes. Eh ho, as long as they work hard, like Ali and Kinky!

1.You have enjoyed him in almost every game. That's fine you are happy. Many fans who have seen him in those games are not - it is nothing to do with the media you are so fond of, knowledgeable and articulate fans have formed their own opinions and they are not impressed. Why do you have a problem with that?
2. Performing to the level of the rest of the team is not good enough. He is not meant to be the same as players paid a quarter or a tenth of what he earns- he is meant to be "among the best in the world".
3. Why do you keep bleating on about the media? You are obsessed by it and mention it in almost every post. Yet almost every article on Robinho that has been discussed on this forum has been pilloried for inaccuracies and in many cases fantasies. The media is part of football. If (and it is a very big IF) Robinho has been swayed by the media then the media have not succeeded...he has failed.
4. You and others seem to think that fans have a vendetta against the lad. Bollocks. His footie can be a thing of beauty, his talent is undeniable and I tell you as many others have done I wish it had worked out for him at City but in my opinion.....his attitude stinks.
Ted Hughes wrote:Tbh, nothing would make me happier than for Robinho to come on when we're 2 up v the rags & do the full Rodney Marsh routine of flicks & skills take the piss & then to find out after the game that he's staying. I love players with skill who do unorthodox things.
Irrespective of that though, I realise that the criticisms levelled at him by people on here are pretty much spot on. It's one thing to be a player who never tackles & doesn't run much if you're constantly scoring goals or creating them & changing games but if you've basically done zilch for a whole year & also don't tackle or run very much, you can't expect to get in any team at any level.
Then to top it all, you twice try to clear off to Brazil in the middle of a season & start doing deals whilst the club's in the middle of a semi final v the biggest rivals. I just don't understand how anyone can defend those actions.
Having said that, I'd STILL rather see him at his best, at City, than let him go.

Good shout Wooders. It's to do with lack of money in Brazilian football. All this vague talk of 'sponsorship'.

And because Doug heard them all singing about Robinho not going on the way into the changing room yesterday after training.
We got Robinho
Scouse get Benjanio
Robinho's proposed move to Santos could yet be scuppered after one of the youngsters involved in the deal admitted he did not want to join Manchester City.
City's 26-year-old schemer announced before the FA Cup tie with Scunthorpe on Sunday, a game in which he scored his first goal of the season, that he was set to join his former club in a loan deal until the end of the season.
Santos confirmed that the transfer was 98 per cent done on Tuesday, with City agreeing to have first option on promising Santos duo Neymar and Paulo Henrique.
However Henrique, who was linked with Chelsea in December, has now admitted that he has no interest in joining City.
"I don't want to play for Manchester City," he said.
"I'd prefer to play for a big club in Europe such as Milan, Real Madrid or Barcelona."
City will hope that their financial muscle can convince the 20-year-old that his future would best be served at Eastlands, but for now the Robinho deal remains on hold.
The former Real Madrid ace has been named in City's squad for the Carling Cup semi-final second leg at Manchester United on Wednesday, with Roberto Mancini admitting that he could yet make the bench.
