If we score on at theirs, assuming we dont conceede 3-4, we'll be fine.

I'd love it if we scored first, really early and they threw the kitchen sink at us, opening them right up for a roasting. The more they open up to get one back the more we score. I want to see their children fans crying on TV.

We can tonk them at the Etihad.

Beefymcfc wrote:Anybody worried about this stat which the media keep spouting, that Klopp has the beating of Pep with 5 wins? Thought I'd have a look to see how it went.

2013/14

Four games this season. First meeting was in the German Super cup which Klopp won 4-2. In the league Pep won away 3-0, lost at home 3-0 before playing them again in the League Cup Final where Pep won 2-0.

That's the stats but what context? Well, the games that Pep lost were actually irrelevant games. The Super Cup is the equivalent of our Community Shield and the 3-0 loss at home was sandwiched between them playing the Rags in the CL, which they had to win, and a League Cup game where they went on to beat Dortmund in the final. Oh, and Pep had already won the league by time they played them.

So, Pep wins the league, the LC and gets to the semi-final of the CL, being knocked out by Real who, beat Dortmund in the previous round. He also gets the UEFA Super up, but eh. Klopp's wins the Charity Shield.

2014/15

Starts with Klopp beating Pep again in the Community Shield 2-0 before Pep goes on to beat him in both league games, 2-1 and 0-1. Klopp gets his own back with a penalty shoot out in the LC semi final but went on to lose the final against Wolfsburg. Klopp moves to the Premium.

Context. Self-explanatory.

2016/17

Only 2 games, in the Prem. Klopp wins the first 1-0 and we draw at home 1-1.

Context. Self-explanatory.

2917-18

2 games again, 5-0 and 4-3.

Context. Self-explanatory.

So, looking at it, the star of 5 games is correct but none of the media seem to give any context, just throw it out there but when you look a little deeper it shows that in real competitive games then it's much more even with Pep actually coming out on top with 5 games to 3.

Random bollox, I know, but one worth pointing out.

Great post mate.

I had one of the many scousers I know telling me this morning that we haven't beaten them at klanfield since 1944...their levels of lies and delusion knows no bounds.

To be fair mate, it has been a while. Again though, it has to be taken in context. We've been a far inferior team for many years and only recently started challenging. I think we've been fairly even since the takeover, especially when we've challenged and there can be no doubt who has been the best team in that period.

We are also a far different team this season and I can see no reason, with Vinny and Dave back, that we cannot go on to win this tie. In fact, I'm expecting it.

Ha ha ha, Sky reporting that the team buses won't be taking the normal route to the ground due to building works on the road.

What's gonna happen to the reception the Dippers had planned?

Why would sky even mention it? They want headlines, that's why. They want the bus welcome shenanigans for their news real because they can't show the game.

They will do their best to broadcast the new route as soon as they can to whip the dippers into a frenzy.

The Merseyside Police and the Liverpool Echo have already published the new route. Tossers!

Be funny if our bus just arrived a bit sooner and the dipper bus got caught up in the melee

I've been amazed at how much Sky have reported on it. Non-stop wall-to-wall coverage, intersected by a bit of crying over tampered balls. They don't usually promote anything CL but now they want a say because their beloved are up against another PL team.

Just shows what the media is now. It's not about facts, it's about whipping the crowd up with erroneous opinion pieces. All about the entertainment and like I say to the Mrs, my 2 hours of football is just like her watching the soaps; it's my kind of drama.

Can you imagine if we got caught up and were late to arrive? We'd probably get a huge fine and have the tie awarded to the Dippers!

We should arrive in a helicopter and land in the middle circle, already in our kits, ready for kick-off.
