We only need to win today and win the tie on Tuesday then Guardiola can rest all players as much as he likes ahead of the CL semis (assumption acknowledged) and give Spuds a hand to boot in pushing Scouse scum down to 4th and hope Chelsea can find some form.

Basically we are throwing today Derby, to to try and reverse 0 shots on target at Anfield in to a 4 - 0 home win. ;) ;) ;) ;)

Maureen will never have a better chance than today ever.

Serious question, does anyone think Pep would have done this in a Classico against Madrid under the same circumstances ?.

Just don't get the selection at all. Hope to be proved wrong. But it's very thin ice Pep is skating on with this selection. History could be made today and he just doesn't seem bothered about this game. I could understand if it was a lesser side but it's the rags FFS. This day of winning the title by beating the rags may never happen again. There will be other CL matches

He's saying to the incoming players "You're not good enough for Tuesday's game and I don't care how you perform today, just so long as the stars don't get injured or tired." #motivationmethods

I think we'll see Kev, Jesus and Sergio at some point, just to give them a run out.

I can see us trying to drag them wide sober can open the parked bus with speed.

If we were still in the tie w the dippers, then I could understand playing a weakened side today. but let’s be honest - the CL is gone for us. Today should have been the priority.

We kind of knew this would be the approach to this game. I think the club hierarchy and Pep want to try and turn the CL tie around. KDB is well the key to that, he wasn't great on Wed. We have to pummel the dippers on tuesday so Walker who has played all games and KDB are likely key players in Peps mind.

It stinks and i think he could have played Aguero ffs.

Anyways we will see and likely learn a bit too about the metal of some... Gundo, Bernardo, Sane etc.

On a positive note the rags are likely to be less park the bus.. that may help us ultimately.

still an early goal is paramount, as is high tempo.

Really we could end up caught between stools here, losing today, or not winning, then not winning enough to go through against dippers, that would be worse case for us. Well it remains to be seen, hell of a gamble by Pep.

Pep has just shown how out of touch he is with the fans. Disgusting this for a derby. Bob would never have done this - he was one of us.

Just win it. Mark it down in history. Come what may midweek, chances to win the league in a derby are few and far between.

I hope you are right mate i really do.

Starting with 2 fullbacks who have not featured regularly, one coming back from injury.I fear the worse with Sanchez,Rashford, cutting inside. Then the Ball over the top to Lukaku to worry about against a totally new defence.

Not confident at all.

Apparently City still concerned about Aguero’s knee according to MEN, He has trained but it swelled up afterwards. If it wasn’t for the importance of this match he wouldn’t be on the bench. Kevin has played so much football and I think the last match showed that. He’ll get 30 I’m sure. The only real surprise is Kompany playing. Will he play on Tuesday as well? People saying this is a severely weakened team are plain wrong. Pep’s trying to juggle between two matches and he’s done his best.

Come on City!

Ultimately he’s not put his best team out to win a once in a life time match. That’s what hurts mate.

He really is an enigma. Maybe he is challenging himself , try and win with his second string, to show Maureen how great he is.

Comes off he will say look what I did, I beat you with my second string.

It doesn’t, he can say I am saving my best players for Tuesday.

We lose this Derby we might need 2 wins to be Champions. My opinion would have been fuck Tuesday until Tuesday comes round. Get this Title in the Bag, Don’t risk doubt setting in. Should have given Wednesday team minus Gudogan the chance to get that performance out of their system. Build up confidence for Tuesday.
