Think Benjani could still do it for one of the lower prem league teams such as Hull, Burnley and Bolton. Would be a step down at his age.

Makes you wonder who is making the signings though. I doubt very much Mancini knows to much about him.

Very good point. Brian Kidd's input maybe

The clubs policy after the accelerated summer transfer spurge on experienced players was to invest in top young talent, Brian Kidd had a big input in this process pre his promotion to assistant, so i'd imagine as you say he's pulling the strings on this one, not that mancini doesn't know of johnsons talents, when we played boro i'd imagine he was impressed by him, just as i was.

Victor Moses is a brilliant player, very happy if we got him. Adam Johnson has been in good form this season and even think he was a handful for us until he got injured.

Good signings, picking up the crop from the championship is a smart move.

It is a matter of public record that we buy players by committee, so the likes of Marwood, Kidd and Mancini will have all been involved and we'll have lots of scout reports and no doubt video's of him playing.

Having said all that, I think maybe Mancini might have noticed the lad playing against us earlier in the year!!!!

Johnson is top drawer, much better than that Downing bloke Villa signed. Scores goals too, has an end product. And doesn't run into people and give the ball away too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moses is excellent too, scores goals and goals and goals. Thought it was a done deal with him weeks ago but now there's a game of cat and mouse. The administrators have declared they need to sell in the next 2 days. Knowing that, clubs dont want to pay too much BUT, lots of clubs are interested. Interesting.

For those that haven't heard of them (?!) both ran rings around us in cup ties this season as well. In fact I was mighty relieved when Johnson went off injured.

Spot on mate.

Can't get myself worked up either way today. Or tomorrow either probably. I'm really not arsed right now.

But yeah, Johnson is very very promising talent with great eye for goal. Moses is one for the future. And both are available on relative cheap. So at worst they'd represent good piece of business as we could sell them on for profit. So go get them. Or don't. I don't care.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I felt like that last night, but now, I've woken up feeling renewed, I want us to punish the little minows we play in our next run of games, I want to banish this ghost with a Adebayor hatrick, 1 for Tevez and Ireland, Portsmouth are going to get punished. Bolton will get rolled over.

My feelings too - after yet another kick in the bollocks from City, and then having to explain it all to a heartbroken 8 year old son when I got back means my enthusiasm for transfers etc isn't top of the pops at the moment.

A media black-out has been enforced, no Sky sports, no newspapers or football on TV until saturday night and this will be the only footy site I visit for any City updates.

I'm doing the exact same thing - can't face any of it just yet. I just can't wait till Sunday to get this out of my system although it may take a little longer this time.

Just heard on SSN that Strachan has refused all bids for Johnson and that he is staying at Boro!

In this case fook all is up to Strachan, the chairman and the board have two choices flog him now and make 5-10 million or wait til the summer and he goes for nothing.

Boro can't afford for him to walk away for free so i fully expect him to leave them before the end of the window.
