Could Spain realise the error of their substitution in bringing off Silva instead of Koke and bring Silva back on now a fourth substitute is allowed in extra time?

I suspect not but it’s an interesting proposition

Am I misremembering, but was it not boring with players scared to attack for fear of losing shape and conceding on the break? Must have been a reason to cancel it I suppose

Yeah but ones that went in were ecstatic to watch!
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Precisely the kind of player who could have opened Russia's defending. What was the use of Busquets in a game like this?

Shocking decision. Sadly this sort of safety first negativity is becoming more prevalent in football today. The sort of substitution Mourinho would make. Pep would have brought off a defender

It's the managerial change. I mean they stay true to their brand of Football but when it needs changing to more direct style like during the extra time when Russia was there for the taking they just couldn't do it. Hierro obviously wasn't had time to train them for change of pace.

Wow. Just shows what application and hard work in defence does. Uruguay and Russia are testament to that

6 shots faced in 4 games, 5 goals conceded.

Is he one of those keepers that need to be busy to stay focussed?

Fuck me, what a start for Denmark! Croatia are tipped to go all the way to the final from this side of the draw.

It isn't about being a hard man at all Mase. This idiot has twice now aimed the ball , with full power at the head of a player on the floor. The player would have no chance to protect themselves. Caught on video twice with his snidey attacks. What sort of warped mind does this ?

Fortunately the second time, yesterday it was a typical bad shot from him and he missed the head of the player.

Haven't seen any of this world cup mate, apart from the odd 10 mins here and there whilst messing on my phone, so I can't comment on anything he's done.

My comment was that I don't know why people call him a fake hardman. He's never claimed to be one.

Well he's a very naughty boy!

He's bloody cool though.
