To be fair I can see most of the big teams dropping points here. Good result considering the circumstances.

Except the rags. Mendes will not allow that.

Shit happens.
Key decisions went against us(surprise surprise) but tbh we weren’t at the races today.
Too many poor performances.
Mendy
Kompany
Gundogan
Sane
Mahrez
Walker
we’re all poor.

The rest weren’t anything special either but Wolves played well, so give them that.

Boly and Patricio were good for them.

Great header from Laporte, but himself and Mendy on the left got skinned too easily.

A lot of food for thought for Pep.

Two home league games now, to get us back on track.

"was the handball goal no more than you deserved?"

"Ben, was that elbow smash to Mendes' face no more than he deserved?" We didn't hear that at the time.

An excellent bad result.

we drew the occasional game last season.

That the Wolves goal turns out to be very contentious, doesn't negate the fact that City totally dominated this match. three times on the woodwork , many chances and two penalties not given.

And that's when City weren't playing well.

The ref knew exactly what he was doing today. He has done his job for the PL.

He allowed Wolves to waste so much time , even in extra time. He failed to give Wolves players yellow cards. Shockingly bad ref .

The ref was poor as per usual. Mendy's defending was shocking. Dire performaces across the team but still could have won it. Deserved to win? Not sure about that.

Pep was concerned about how we play all of the promoted sides early.

This happens with whoever plays them early on.

I believe the same fixture last season, or around the same time, we drew to Everton so not too worried, but Pep will not be happy with several aspects, and not just the ref.

Wonder what's going on with Sane. He must have done something to right piss off Pep. Has more comp this season and with Mendy Pep favours his 3-5-2, but then today doesn't utilise it and is on the bench anyway.

I know I praised Gundo to carl's bemusement, but I know he didn't have an amazing game by any means, but I feel like he's the latest lightning rod for our fans too easily at times. That's part of why I note things he does well, because, to be honest it seems as if some are waiting for him to do something we don't like. Oddly enough WhoScored rated his performance today 7.5, even Mendy at 7.4, but I think those free kicks are being given weight:

https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/12847 ... ester-City

Mendy has been known as a spotty defender so this wasn't too shocking, but changes to the team seemed to not be working as well as he did not have 3 at the back to cover him.

This was always going to be a tough fixture, I guess I thought the momentum would carry us through as we looked impressive coming in, but maybe a good gut check for a team that maybe was too complacent.

xG for the match: Wolves 1.24 City 1.79

a draw is probably a fair result looking at the full match. we didnt do enough to win. yes Wolves' goal shouldnt have stood and we probably shouldve had a pen but the players on the pitch didnt do enough to win. Vinnie was terrible, Fern pretty bad too, Mendy awful defending, Sane invisible when he came on, Mahrez did nothing, Sterling uninvolved (apart from his one good shot on goal).

the foul from Neves wasnt down low on Silva. Carra is right: Silva initiates contact by kicking Neves' leg (albeit unintentionally). the contact was higher up as Neves appeared to push Silva in the back.

Fingers crossed the signs are; no dodgy referee decions, bad luck, rag dipper media and bad performances will stop us picking points. Everything seem to conspire against today but we showed mettle to salvage a valuable point. Over to you bottlers (dippers)

NBC went over it in detail and both pundits agreed it was a clear pen.

I think you, Carra and Neville are in a significant minority.

They just went over it again, and Silva is both clearly pushed in the back and has his legs tangled by the Wolves player that leads him to kick backwards.
