Not an expert on the area but my guess is you'll enjoy yourself regardless unless there's some unusual event. My experience in Germany has always been positive. Good review about the stadium as well here:

Away fans are housed within the north-east corner of the stadium within blocks H1, H2, G1 and G2, and thanks to the single-tiered stand design it can really rock when full.

Whether its due to the use of rail seating which permits standing or just the fact that the single-terrace is typically larger than normal is unknown, but one thing for sure is that the facilities at Hoffenheim’s stadium are really conducive to a great atmosphere for both sets of fans.

German Beer is Chemical free, Germany's alright by me.. German tarts are Wunderschön - courtesy of Mark Knopfler .

Germany is probably the most inexpensive , but fine location in Europe for good food , wine , Beer etc. You wont get ripped off .

Hoffenheim is small, rural and quiet , Plenty to see in Frankfurt , Heidelberg ,Mannheim and even Karsruhe , at a push Stuttgart to the south .

Lovely country and lovely people from my experience, same with Austria.

Admittedly i've only ever stayed a week/10 days at a time skiing but i love Austria (been 8 times or so) and kind of thought of the locals as mild mannered version of the Germans! The french on the other hand are complete & utter cunts it's just a shame they have some of the better ski resorts in Europe
