I look at it another way; sure we can but out a more defensive side in big games if we feel the need but if he's more mobile & quicker than what we've got then it enables us to either play one less def midfielder in some games or to let the forwards concentrate more & use their energy on attacking & not have to work so hard tracking back.

Also it helps balance out our dwarf/weakling problem so perhaps we'll stop letting in a headed goal or flick on from a header EVERY FUCKING GAME. It's been doing my head in for years.

That reminds me - at the time, there was an argument as to whether or not he was a holding mid and someone seriously used the fact that he had a shaven/bald head to help their argument that he definitely was a defensive midfielder.
