Deloitte 2019

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Deloitte 2019

Postby john@staustell » Thu Jan 24, 2019 7:34 am

None of the figures are ever a surprise anymore but the comparison is still a bit interesting. City have done quite well but then again I recall last year we were a bit flat and this year all the Premier teams have gone up quite a bit except the RAGs, probably due to an obvious lack of success

Spurs are nearly catching Arsenal which was unthinkable a few years ago. And Real are top but if you take into account successive CL wins, I wonder what their base income is if they get knocked out early for a year or 2?

Maybe worth discussing that we are at £504M, whilst the Evil Ex-Empire is on £590M. Whilst the wooden headed one allegedly has a lot in the pipeline, we've got Puma onboard plus some more dirty CFG deeds to come no doubt, so I don't think that gap is very big at all. Also unthinkable a few years ago.

WE ARE COMING

It's all bit beyond simple pasting anymore, so here are the links, DeLoittes in euros and Sky in £££s. Someone more tech-savvy may insert the pretty pictures

Like it or like it not. It just shows that winning the CL is important for revenue, progression etc.
If we want to get up there with the top two, we are going to have to bag it, several times.
Easier said than done though.

I may be wrong in this, but it's seemed to me that we've had fewer PL games televised this season than in previous years. If it is the case, how much of a hit will this be to our revenue?

Edit: Here's the table for last season, not including the final day:
Arsenal: 28
Man United: 28
Tottenham: 27
Liverpool: 26
Man City: 25
Chelsea: 24
Everton: 18
Newcastle: 17
West Ham: 17
Southampton: 15
Brighton: 12
Crystal Palace: 12
Leicester: 12
Stoke: 12
Bournemouth: 11
Swansea: 10
Watford: 10
Huddersfield: 9
West Brom: 9
Burnley: 6

The facility fees worked out at around £1.1million per game last season. I can't find anywhere that shows how many times we've been shown live this season.

Nor me, but I thought we had a really dry spell in October to early December in terms of televised matches.

Just seen prize money for final league position has increased to around £1.9 million per place, which I hadn't realised.

I've seen others mention that about not being shown much during the period you mention. Perhaps Sky/BT intend showing us more often in the run in, speculating that the two horse race will go to the wire and they don't want to fill their quotas too early.

with us getting a better deal with puma which is about 38 million better off and if we can do a little better in fa cup and champs league we could get nearer 540-50 million next time, in champs league if we are the only English team left after next set of fixtures then the money will go up quite a bit

Just found this BiB, your impression that we've been shown less is spot on

Just going off Saturday 3pm kick-offs, there's 9 PL games we haven't been televised for so far:
Fulham H
Cardiff A
Brighton H
Burnley H
Soton H
West Ham A
Bournemouth H
Palace H
Leicester H

That doesn't include midweeks.

If we can have a maximum of 29 games shown (Arsenal had 28 without the final game, which one report I've read implies could have been televised as well), that means that every game from now on can be shown.

If the current trends hold, we'll overtake the rags in annual revenue 3 years from now.

We still only make a small profit on paper, after certain parties have had the odd divvy. But that's the way it should be. Why should a club make a profit? They should buy players
