The View from the Away End..FA Cup edition

Postby CuteMancs » Sat Jan 26, 2019 8:43 am

Enjoy :)

Once again only a few comments (worth using) from the Clarets. The only interesting thing to me are their comments around Joe and his relationship with City. I think Pep will go all out for this one, and my only concern is that we come out it with everyone in tact

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Scott, Graham
Assistant Referee: Holmes, Adrian
Assistant Referee: McDonough, Michael
Fourth Official: Harrington, Tony
Video Assistant Referee: Marriner, Andre
Additional Video Assistant Referee: Ledger, Scott

Team Selection

Hart
Lowton Gibson Long Ward
JBG ( if fit)Hendrick Defour Brady
Vydra Vokes

And the rest

What the hell have we done to deserve being away to Man City ?

I won't care if we get a good hammering, as long as we put in a good performance and at least show some intent on attacking.

sounds like City are putting out their first team tomorrow

Nice...We can concentrate on the league then...TBH. I have a feeling that we will sneak one tomorrow. Our name could be on the cup this year. It’s time we had a giant killing of our own....so long as we don’t do a Wigan

We'll win this one.

Pope has to play...Hart has too many mates at City and if he thinks he's about to leave here then his heart won't be in it.

If I was playing I would go in studs up on Kompany and trample on Aguero. If only.......

Hart was too chummy with them when we played them in the league! ...Didn’t effect the result but got Reet on mi paps

Play the first team. If the poor lambs are so unfit that they can't play two games in a week, then they can have Tuesday off - we're no more likely to beat United than City. Probably less likely, on current form...Anyway, if they're so unfit that they are likely to get strains and pulls from an extra game, it's better to find out now than on 1st February.

I would hope that Pope would start if thought fit.

City can ill afford any injuries to key players in their chase to catch Liverpool, Champs League and League Cup Final. Aguerro, Jesus, if either of them got hurt by the nasty players of Burnley or the midfield City assassins were red carded by VAR for simulation and general cheating.........our B team could just pull off a shock UTC

Any results from the 2 Manchester teams would be a bonus, realistically we're not going to win the cup,so losing at Man City is arguably the best case scenario,of course we don't want to be on the end of a thrashing either, but that Southampton game is a huge 6 pointer for both teams,so if we can avoid injuries to key/returning players, that has to be the priority i'm afraid.

There's some benefit in Marriner being the VAR ref , perhaps he'll finally learn what a foul is !

Hadn't heard anything about this: Does it seem as if he's angling for a move or being shown the door, anyone know?

Nor had I but Burnley aren’t going to want to pay his wages for a third choice goalkeeper.
