Yep, slow on second balls, slow in the press, too many touches. If not DeBruyne then either Bernardo or Foden with one of Silva/Gundogan.

Bernardo was class in the middle last season. Not sure why this season it's wide or nothing.

Its plain to see bernando should be in the middle instead of gundo, especially when kev is out !!

After the dust has settled on yesterdays shambles I am quite happily resigned to having a "normal" season this season . Loved winning the domestic quad (once in a lifetime stuff) Absolutely hated last seasons intense toxic rivalry with the bin dipping scouse murdering cheating bastards . Let them have the limelight let them have all the pressure , leave them out there , they will simply embarrass themselves .Us , time to rebuild , time to get players fit again , time for Pep to "tinker" with a few things . We haven't been the same team as last season although winning a lot of games in dynamic fashion , we have several flaws obviously having no top CBs is a huge issue but more importantly inho we miss the pace of Leroy Sane going forward and yesterday the dynamic directness of KDB . Sterling has struggled badly the last two games so has David Silva and Aguero non existent for some strange reason . Until we get our key players back fit and a couple or three of our star players back to top form I am expecting plenty more of ups and downs it is without doubt going to be one of those seasons . Its a poor PL this season , Rags are shite , Arse are shite , Spurs are shite and we have a few problems but still bang there . Scouse cunts cheating and diving and not playing well find themselves clear .......................... lets be patient with a different mind set ? it could pan out to be one of those truly crazy seasons ? but one thing is for sure WE WILL be in the mix to win at least two trophies this season . Keep the faith stay patient and be prepared for anything but most importantly enjoy ! 8-)

The injuries and the failure to replace vinny will cost us dearly. We wont be able to just muddle through. That will not be good enough.

We need to manage the season. Pursuing 4 trophies with a depleted squad is not a great idea.

I'm glad Gundogan is being called out. He's ruining the midfield at the moment.

Last season was very poisonous. It was fuckin horrible in fact. We did the treble and I could celebrate properly at Wembley, but fuck me the league campaign was disgusting. I hated every minute of those last 5 or 6 matches. The constant feeling sick every week. I didn't feel like that in 2012. It's definitely the scummy scousers that take it to that level.

I too feel strangely relaxed after yesterday.

Walking back from the ground I said to my grandson that it would. be very good to be able to watch the beautiful game without all the pressure of HAVING to win all the time.

Guess it's just the three cups for us this season guys....
and
Starts for the kids
and please... pretty please....

No more "Norwich" teams i.e. Gundogan with Silva and Rodri!!

Thankyou. Time for my cocoa

Well I don’t - PeP is getting on my fucking nerves with his refusal to play Foden and his constant hard on for Gundo.

It was always going to be a struggle finding that hunger again after the two amazing seasons we've had. I mean, if us fans can't even get properly fired up, it's no wonder that the players are also struggling to reach their maximum.

Just so.

Watched the Newcastle game for a bit of schadenfreude.

Steve Bruce plays 19yr old local boy in first premier league game.

Matty Longstaff scores winning goal

Mmm??

Thought-provoking post, 64. Well said.

The only thing though is that if we can't win it this season, by some divine intervention, I hope it's anyone but the dippers - the latter would be unbearable. Arsenal, or even Leicester who seem to have stepped it up a notch or two lately. Tall order, I know, but the murderers will drop points. As I said recently, they are scraping wins and their luck is due to run out.

It’s games like yesterday that prove it’s not worthwhile deliberately sacking off the cups to concentrate on the league. Rest a few players and play a few young ones, yes, but don’t bin a trophy just for hope.

That's not really relevant, though. They get paid whether they win or not, and cash is not as strong of an incentive as that drive/desire to be the best and to win. That's why you always need to shake up winning teams quite a bit every now and then.
