When the saints come limping in

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

When the saints come limping in

Postby CuteMancs » Mon Oct 28, 2019 7:28 pm

I was going to say that I thought it would be fun to check out the away fans for the game tomorrow, but I do feel a little bit sorry for them. Having said that, it will be interesting to see if there is any kind of reaction from the Saints. I am going to save all my praise for the away fans who actually make the journey tomorrow night.

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Jonathan Moss
Assistants: Simon Bennett and Edward Smart
Fourth Official: Darren Bond

Team Selection

Martin
Kirkup
Hollywood
Fisher
McGraph
Gabriel
O'Neill
Paine
Channon
Davies

And the rest…

We're a wounded tiger and we are going to rip them apart.

Naturally we'll be going into this one in good shape and high on confidence, should be a walk in the park.

Thinking about it, we're pretty good at walking in the park, just strolled around st marys for 90 minutes, no sweat.

Man City twice in a row after a 9 nil thrashing! FFS…Simply we need to mix it up in one of the games, and as the first is the Cup game that might as well be the one…Firstly, no more 3 centre backs. Yes we’re crap with 2 but we’re also crap with 3 so we might as well have the extra attacker on the pitch, even against the likes of City. Secondly, no more 3 central midfielders. They aren’t good enough. Thirdly, no Gunn. He’s not ready yet and McCarthy is better.

New 11 players please.

Who cares who plays, really, who cares...?

I just don’t care. **** ‘em. Stupid quitter ****s.

Perhaps we just forget to turn up , forfeit the match and take a 3 nil defeat.

We’ve sold about 1000 tickets for this, would imagine a fair few who purchased won’t bother to travel now…Those who do go please arrive early to greet the saints coach and let the players know they are a bunch of ****s and their performance will not be forgiven. I’ve never known a set of players so hated by our own fans.

They'll name a younger team I guess, it's the league game I'm more worried about.

There have to be mass changes for both games. Start with McCarthy in goal, it's obvious that he is a far better goalkeeper than Gunn.

Younger team? Pep will field a team of injured players and they will still batter us!

At least fernandinho is now banned.

They could field 6 players and we'd still lose.

Will be a tepid affair as Man City reserves canter to an easy 4-0 win.

I'm going to both matches, living oop north now. Prior to last night I was optimistic of keeping the aggregate score from the 2 games down to single figures at a push' .... now I'm worried both could go into double figures!! Just watched MOTD and they highlighted just how impressive City's approach play down their left is…gulp! Villa put up a good fight but City still had 25 attempts on goal…I think plenty of pre match beer to cushion the pain is my only hope, and maybe an abacus to keep tally of the scores!! A Long and Boufal inspired victory in the Cup and a respectable 0-3 loss in the league as it is a free hit would suit me… at least I've only got a short distance to get home!!

This is a must not lose by a margin greater than 3 goals match.

More intrested to see who is removed from the squad than who is selected. Time for some home truths the result is not important but the performance must be better.

Can’t we just come to an arrangement with City in advance, Agee to two 0-3s, they can rest all their players, we save some face - everyone’s a winner.

This game clearly is a waste of time as a contest…Those players who brought shame to the red and white shirt on Friday night cannot be allowed to just brush it off. Unless I've missed it have any of them tried to explain why collectively they threw the towel in and gave no effort? We're talking historic record breaking levels, no pride or desire to perform for the club / manager / fans. They should be afraid to show their faces in town.

We need to see some sort of reaction. We will almost certainly lose but whoever plays needs to give 100% for the shirt. The longer this festers, the worse it gets. Hopefully this will be in the past and when we play the likes of Everton and Watford the starting lineup will be focused on winning those games and not damage limitation.

The only chance we have in this game is if our players turn up and play out of their skins putting in 10/10 performances all over the pitch to try and erase the embarrassment of Friday....and Man City's players get collective amnesia, and forget the way to the Etihad, and then we might just manage a draw (and lose on pens)

The truth, as far as I'm concerned, is, when our manager puts out a team on 11, one of which is a Goalkeeper, and of the remaining 10, 9 are defensive players, and this at home! Yes, the players were sh1te, but the setup was bl00dy crap for a home game, sorry Ralph, but this was on you.

I'd suggest, that every away fan, stands and turns their collective backs on the team, when they take to the field, show them a reaction!

The ladies team is doing well just won their last game 11-0 maybe we should play them? reckon they've got more balls than our senior men's team.

Just pick the eleven tallest widest players to block the entire goalmouth.

When the players come on to the pitch for warm up, are we supposed to applaud them?

They're 22-1... which could also be the score.
All we are saying is give Doug a pass.

Veing such overwhelming favourites always makes me nervous - but then I've followed City for many decades now!!

That's the best of a good bunch, got to feel for them though. I can't see Liverpool fishing in the Southampton pond for a while with their current squad.

Difficult for their fans after that, but I don’t think they will ship that many again, narrow win for us.
