Quite sentimental seeing the kid get into the first team albeit he won't get any where near a run or much game time this season. Has he got it? I don't follow the youth as much as some on here, do does he have what it takes to push his way into a regular squad?

Would love to see him stay and fight his way but look like he could do with putting a bit of timber on. Held his own last night.

I'd love to know too. I hope he makes it with us purely for sentimental reasons.

My dad used to tell me about Mike Doyle and how much he despised the rags. I think he was saying players like Summerbee shared a flat with Best, whereas Doyle just couldn't stand any of them.

Sure plays a mean dead ball.

I would love him to make it with us. I used to watch his grandad. He was tremendous.

The two times I've seen Tommy for EDS he was clearly a leader on the pitch, obviously wouldn't expect that on debut, I thought he did well first half and looked a bit tired second, as you would expect

Lads been a massive Blue since birth so would mean so much if he became a first team regular. Isn't his great cousin Alan Oakes as well?

Sadly I never saw Glyn Pardoe play as he was nobbled by that fucking yellow cunt kidney-waster before I was old enough to see him. I loved watching Mike Doyle though.

Glyn was a fantastic left back. Best broke his leg deliberately imho, I remember seeing it just. But I'm afraid it was all in the game in those days

Mike Doyle, the ultimate rag hater. He was made captain when we got rid of Rodders and had to wade through crowds of angry and fairly dim fans outside Maine Road

But he came through all that to be a fantastic skipper

Tommy Doyle is a serious competitor with a big big heart and has a good chance of making it at City. Not a silky talented player like most of our midfielders but more full of driving energy and desire.

He played the holding midfield role on Tuesday which is far from his natural position. He's played there a few times for the EDS but it takes away some of his game as he loves to get on the ball and drive forwards looking to make things happen. All part of the learning for him though.

Lately I have thought he has looked knackered. Last EDS game he was left out and the one before he was taken off which I assumed was down to fatigue so I was surprised he got the call.

I reckon Kun could play the role of the Pinball Wizard and Mase could be Wicked Uncle Ernie !

He looked a bit nervous out there but kept in simple, which is what is required in that position. Some very smart passes, but also a few mistakes. Will be very interesting to see how he develops, but I'd put Garcia and obviously Foden above him when it comes to making it here.
