Tried it on the I-Pad with perfect quality so dug the Firestick out, logged on and Eh Presto, perfect again. Also got Chromecast so lots of ways of getting full screen.

Oh, TV is SMART but not sure how to get it on as I binned the controller as it's always linked to the Sky et al. Will have a look at that when I have more time.
