To be fair, Arteta did a job on us and played exactly like Southampton did. They were ruthless in the press and when we actually escaped it we were left with a packed box where it was difficult to get anywhere near the goal, never mind into it.

Pep has to take some credit for the defeat.

That's when you need a striker with presence. We didnt have it.

That's nonsense He didn't get any chances . Mendy was a complete waste of time on the left . Pep needs to sort these wing half players . Mahrez , the same

Another waster

Top strikers make things happen Jesus is not a top striker

And never will be...its been said so many times.

It was our midfield that let us down tonight , absolutely piss poor all of them , KDBs worst game for years David Silva non existent Sterling never turns up for big games , Gundogan hopeless . It was a fucking mind numbing shit show of the highest order . Gab never got a ball played into him ffs , Bernardo always plays well against Arsenal why wasn’t he on the pitch ????

There is a pattern here, Wolves, rags, Spurs, Saints all played similar games, if pep is the genius they say he should notice thisi and take action to sort it

Top strikers do not make things happen . That is what what the midfield is for . Top strikers score the only chance they get and Boomerang score two from three shots. However , he got the chance to shoot. Sterling was in front of goal more often that Boomerang and all he could do was blast it , when a chip or lob would have sufficed. Get him off to Madrid and keep Kun another year.

We all knew this in the first half but it doesn't register with PeP does it.

KDB and DS should have come off at HT , they were abysmal and sterling wasn't far behind either.

Arsenal deserved the win.....by far.

Agree to disagree on the striker issue, but Sterling, time to cash in, for mr it’s like when bacon face dealt with Beckham he was to big a celebrity this BLM thing is the same with Sterling, sell him for mega bucks and recruit appropriately

City are not coping with a good high press. Saw it against Southampton and against Bournemouth and now again against Arsenal. Pep said he expected a high press and 5 at the back but the team couldn’t cope with it. A fortnight to shape up for the Madrid match. We need a dramatic improvement.

The main thing is that we are not fixing our issues.
Same and same and same. 7 of our 9 defeats in the league this season are the absolute same thing.

Today was a game for Foden and Bernardo, for example.

Check out Messis comments on barca midweek, we are exactly the same. A weak team who can be beaten by anyone with a half decent plan and some enthusiasm. No point in beaten people 8-0 if u lose the ones that matter.

Lets be honest arsenal are a poor team. As were the rags who have beat us 3 times when they were on their knees this season. We lost to fucking norwich too one of the worst teams in pl history.

Whats our game plan? We didnt high press two of the most calamitous centre halves in the league, when they half did we got chances. Arsenal beat us at our own game by high pressing and passing out through us from the back. It’s disgraceful.

A mixture of personnel, mentality, stupid decisions from players and coach and god knows what else. Pep has a huge job next season.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway i was getting peed off with late sunday kick off times at Wembley . instead of Saturday afternoon.

extra hotel costs , more expensive flights on monday morning.

Then the one time they choose a saturday for City - no fans can go . Agenda ? dead right there's one.

Well, of course, there was last year as well. And 2011. Of the 5 semis we've been involved in since the takeover, we've had the Saturday slot for 3. Of the other 2 (2013 & 2017), the other semi involved a team that had to travel (slightly) further than us; Wigan in 2013. The 2017 semi was a complete farce, though, with us being the only non-London club involved. Northern clubs being involved only in the Sunday fixture also happened in 2009 (Rags & Everton) and 2015 (Dippers). The only time Arsenal have had the Sunday fixture has been against us in 2017, though. In fact, that's the only time they've played in the second semi since 1991 (out of 13 semi-final appearances).
