Agree Beefy, far better - still it's fun to watch Owen & Dixon trying to change course with so much hate in their bilgesBeefymcfc wrote:johnny crossan wrote:Dixon doesn't think Pep could have done it at Stockport County - well there's a surprise
To be fair, that was the only downside from that production, overall it was an absolute breath of fresh air the way they had no real bias towards either of the clubs and just said how they’d seen the game. The amount of praise for each was what I’d have expected and the pundits thoughts afterwards were spot on, not just for City.
What that did say, as they all pundit for different broadcasters, is that certain outlets set a directive on what should or shouldn’t be said.
If I had to give a friend a recommendation of the Prime viewing experience from a City POV then I’d be giving them a ‘Very Strong’ whereas Sky or BT it would be ‘Unsatisfactory, Not Recommended’.

Yep
And the GD is worth an extra point as well. Mind the gap

Prior to his injury he'd been poor for a long time.
For ages I believed he was our Van Dijk equivalent but over time it's increasingly appeared he's not as good as we thought he was.
I hope he can raise his game now with the increased competition. Dias has made a great start with us and Stones has raised his level. It's up to Laporte and Ake to prove they're good enough to compete for a starting spot.

Is not actually hate, but starting to understand he is not as good as we think he is, was. Excellent squad player to have, but a world beater? Come on, he couldn't get in his national team and let's forget a bit his so called problem with Deschamps.
There can be a lot of arguments & examples, but the fact is in our last three exists out of the UCL are on his back: Scouse, Spurs, Lyon (but also bent decisions).
The injuries play a part, no doubt, but he has a lot of brainfarts for this level in key moments.
No one is saying fuck off Laport, let's sell him.
Just that he should never start in key moments based on his past fuckups.
Last night he was poor, small things that could cost us.

The last 3 exits from the Champs League he made mistakes that cost us but if Serg scores the pen against Spurs we're through, if Raz scores the open goal against Lyon, if Eddie doesn't throw one in against Lyon. There's plenty of mistakes that cost us.
And if a player shouldn't start in key moments based on past fuckups Stones would never play again.

Agree.
But can't remember a moment when a brain fart from Stones cost us in a key moment. I remember a title saving moment from him and a fantastic 2017 first half of the season. Then his personal life took over.
With those mentioned are examples, unfortunate examples, with him (Aymeric), sadly, it looks like a pattern.
I really can't remember a really critical moment when he was motm. Not for the sake of the argument, it just doesn't come to mind a moment except Brighton away.

Brighton away was pretty critical.
A Stones brain fart cost us a goal in the Caraboa Cup Final last season but my point is Stones is playing at a top level which is great for us. Dias is the glue that holds us together and Laporte is also playing really well again. It's a squad, Pep is managing them really well and making sure they're all getting game time. Some people on here would like the same 11 every week.
