That is the thing right there. Kun's replacement can be either Haaland, either Kane, but they still need to fill big shoes.
Anyone else is not a replacement, but a small fix, a patch.
If you put your pessimism behind you for a moment or two Peter and emerge from your left over comfort zone of self pity because we are now only the 2nd best team in Europe.......
We have in recent years lost a number of irreplaceable World class superstars and actually replaced them quite well, whilst also improving our performances as a team.
YAYA in his his pomp, not only ably defended our defence but was used to great effect by Mancini towards the end of the of the 2012 campaign further up the field destroying opposotion defences.....Irreplaceable until Fernandhino.
ZABBA maybe wasn't the greatest full back, but his spirit, courage and effort were also irreplaceable. And though maybe not fully replaced, Walker has done more than a half decent job getting up and down that flank.
DAVID SILVA earned the name El Mago by his sheer skill and ability to unlock defences and his vision to seen the perfect pass. There will never be another Siva, yet with a few differences in his armoury, Our Phil Foden has covered that loss more than adequately.
KOMPANY was not only our players' leader, in fact our club's leader on and off the pitch. he too was irreplaceable until wer signed Dias ahead of all the other Worldie central defenders we were linked with and had to buy but didn't. This 4th or 5th choice defender turned out to be every bit as good a defender as Vinnie as well as being a leader on the field at a very young age. The honoured footballer of the year no less.
We have seen many young superstars hit the heights then fade, so Haarland, obviously a huge talent, though untired in the Prem may be the City target but he doesn't come with any guarantees. Notr does Kane, great scorer, tried and tested in the Prem but maybe a bit injury prone and no longer in the flush of youth. Kane comes at a. over inflated price but no guarantee.
So itmay be abiy silly to demand what you want like some child passing the ice cream counter but our record of replaceing irrepaceable superstars has been pretty decent in recent years.
