Ahhhhh, the old 'It's the Servers Fault' routine! Got to say, it's good to be back.

It was funny watching all the usual names log on to Bluemoon!!

Must admit, I was getting a bit concerned as to what I would do for tonight's match!

I'm gonna have to try that myself, popped on before to read the 'MCF.Net Suspended' thread and thought it was quite corny. It was like a 'Get 'em outta are fridge' thread!

Guys

I have been onto our hosts since 7:30 this morning. I am extremely busy at work at the moment and to say that I am pissed off at having to constantly hound them throughout the day to sort things out is an understatement! If it wasn't such a big job to move servers I would be happy to tell them to fuck off and we will spend our money elsewhere!

For the record, the reasons they gave are;
There was some disk corruption that caused a problem on the server - after running a full file system check and repairing the problem, some areas of your account were found to have been in the area of the disk that had the bad sectors so we are restoring the account. The reason for it taking so long is that your mysql database is so big. Restoring large databases takes a very long time -in some cases several days. Yours appears to be close to finishing now but I would expect it to take at least another 30 minutes or so.

We are obviously very sorry for the disruption but I'm sure you can understand that disk issues do happen from time to time and it is very difficult to predict or prevent this kind of problem.
This message was sent at 2.30 at 4.50 I had to chase them again to sort it out, I was fully expecting to get home to find that it was still down, in which case I was on my way to Leeds to cause some damage!

Sorry to everybody, it really was out of our control.

cheers KK,

What a bunch of clueless clunts, all servers should have a fail-over so issues like this can be fixed with the customer not being affected. Sounds like they are a bunch of cowboys :-(
