I think Torres could be coached to play at 9 and he does give us options up top.put this in the other thread, but agree with what you say re Haaland. The boy is a menace and we should go all-in for him, show our hand and force the german rags into a battle. As it stands, it looks like he will go there so put a bid in above the release and see what happens. Faint heart never fucked a fair maiden and all that. IF it is not Haaland, who the fuck is it?

I dont mean to sound too arrogant but we are too big a club these days to be relying on coaching a player into a role. Think of all the past glory teams did they have to coach and mould a player into a new position in such a pivotal position? We should be coaching torres into being a 3rd/4th choice option not as our main striker. We used to have four world class strikers, now we have none.
derby day the scores were level,

On the whole though, we've got away with this (Delph/Zinch at lb, Fern at cb and the false 9). Unfortunately, that may just feed Pep's ego enough for it to continue. Taking into account how our rivals have strengthened and the usual dip in hunger and motivation after winning the league, this would be his best one yet if we manage to finish top of the pile again.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Wenger turned Henry from a winger to a striker. Who's to say Pep didn't buy Torres with the idea of him playing centrally in the first place?

We bought Kompany as a midfield player. These things happen.
Torres has scored 2 and if it wasn't for the very dodgy VAR decision against Norwich he'd have 3 in 3.
He could be a revelation this season.

Kompany had played more games in defence for Hamburg than he had as a DM. I used to watch the German league a lot at that time. It was a myth that he was a midfielder. He’s played there for Hamburg but he was a defender - they bought him to replace Daniel Van Buyten.

lets not expect too much from Torres, I like everyone else really want to see him doing well. But just take it one game at a time, hopefully Pep will give him a real chance and continue to play him, without pressure.
Spain playing tonight we will see where / if he plays.

He had an absolutely brilliant season for us. You could tell he was too good for us at the time. Keegan said we couldn’t afford the £3m to keep him (that Hamburg eventually paid) and he was right!
That summer we just signed free transfers - Danny Mills, Ben Thatcher, Geert De Vlieger and Ronald Waterreus!

Crazy, I remember being really excited about Mills and Thatcher signing for us!! How times have changed.

We lost because baldie is a CL Cretin.

Play the same team as we played in the S final and we win that game.

End of.

It is not even open to debate.
The team selected for the CL final cost us the match.
In previous CL campaigns it was the same.

Pep over thinks his CL selections. The only difference this year was that by some miracle Pep waited until the final before he panicked.

Anyone who claims it wasn't the managers fault is absolutely deluded.

Mills was quality (in my mind). Liked him at Leeds and I was incredibly happy he chose us, the rest you know. Horrible experience.
I think Keegan did some really smart business, from day one. Was sad when he left, I think he was too harsh on himself.

I didn’t say it wasn’t, just the way it was depicted. To compare losing a CL to such a thing does not ring right with me.

I'm glad there are still folk out there who couldn't give a shit about treading on egg shells for the easily offended.

The point SB was making was an obvious one - I look at the comment as that and only that.

It's not about being offended. One is an opinion and the other is a FACT. Trying to make out your opinion is a fact is just a shit argument. The point I believe was that if Fernandinho had started we would have won the chumps league.

Even since the he has started a few games we lost....

Egg shells? There’s no egg shells when you relate a football match to the Holocaust.

What it says to me is that some are may be a little too soft if they can’t get over a football game, even if it is a final. Dummy out of the pram, you could say.

100’s of thousands of City fans must be soft as fuck then .

Go ahead and Keep shrugging those shoulders of yours when we lose - I’ll continue to “throw my toys out of the cot”.

If baldie had played the same fucking team as he did in the semi final , we would have easily won.

He decided to play the worst performing player of the year in a CL final and push Foden from his favorite position , a position he had excelled in all season .

That point has been pointed out by fans and journos the world over.
