Surely it should have gone by now?
Is it actually working?
Just curious...

Vaccines don’t work like that, mate. They can’t stop you catching it or from transmitting it, they are there to build up your immunity in order to fight it and stop you having severe symptoms, basically trying to keep you out of hospital. Even that’s not guaranteed.

I have no idea really, but it could be that this is a virus and you can't stop it the same way as, say, leprosy. I think that is a contagious disease and is different to a virus. Like I said, i have no idea. The cold is the same thing, a virus, and there is no 'cure'. Any medical people on here?

Spurs haven’t played for a while so a great time to play them for Liverpool.

No VVD for the dippers though. And their record when he doesn't play as to when he does is night and day.
And Kane is due a goal is he not.
Ok, I'm clutching at straws, but I live in hope![]()

It does, doesn’t it, but it’s not. Smallpox was the same, I think, where it formed further variants to try and beat the vaccine.
To be honest, I think the only reason that we are still open and allowed to go to watch football is because the government are scared of the fallout from the public and the cost of a shutdown. That scientist bloke basically told us where we are at the moment.

I think the last paragraph there Beefy sums it up. I think as a country we haven't the money to support another enforced and extended lockdown with furlough and the rest of the fallout that would ensue. And as such the government is trying to stumble through whilst hoping the wave peaks and we return to normal.
Or, controversially, do they have information that the strain of Omicron is not as deadly as previous strains and they are hoping that people get it and it then the virus dies out, like the original herd mentality we were told of in the first weeks of the virus breaking out on 2020?
