I was quite impressed and surprised by Fulham's positive approach which showed no fear.
Reminded me of City's approach in our 1965 cup run.
Only a few months into the Mercer/Allison reign and topping Div2, our approach and atitude were similar. No fear, play our game and have a go. Maybe (more than) a few Prem teams over the last few seasons could learn from that when playing City instead of putting 11 men (frightened mice!) behind the ball.
That season we drew with a reasonably decent Blackpool (Div1) away, winning the replay at Maine Rd.
A run of the mill win at home to Grimsby.
Were losing 2-0 at HT at Maine Road to Leicester, another decent Div1 team with Gordon Banks in their goal. In the 2nd half we mullered 'em and drew 2-2.
It then took a very good Everton team 3 goes to finall overcome us. 0-0 at Maine Rd, 0-0 at Goodison and despite finally losing 0-2 at Molineux in the 2nd replay, we gave them one helluva game.
I enjoyed the City win (as always) but also enjoyed that Fulham came to play their own game with a very positive attitude and tried to win and made it a good game to watch
