Either way he's not out of the woods yet, or is he?

I would say he’s never been in the woods. The info I got last year was that he hadn’t done it and the escorts were all in on it together.

Why would the CPS continue to pursue it? Just because he's high profile and want to 'bring him down?

The girl continues to lie to the defence lawyer until then she says "you're going to have to look at this then..."
Will she now be prosecuted then?

Probably not, which does not seem fair at all. But I think the reason these sorts of prosecutions take place is to not discourage victims from coming forward.
Tricky.

Agree with the not to discourage other (real) victims from coming forward angle but they should also look to stop the wannabe wags from attempting to blackmail admittedly stupid footballers and the like. In instances where consent is proven beyond all reasonable doubt and or it is apparent that the woman in question has a history of similar - the girl in the Ched Evans case had previous with a rugby league player, then for me, there should be cause for prosecution. Fucking annoys me that there are way too many gold diggers out there but ultimately its on the fuckwit bloke for getting himself in that position.

This part is the part that's tricky.
But I agree with everything you said, as would most.
I suppose consent could be established via apps, but that's another hornets nest, open to abuse.
