In the full interview that comes after that clip he doesn't once say he told him not to go. He actually says he's not a person who can tell him not to go. He spoke to Grealish who said he wants to go, and the national team can call up whoever they like. Putting aside the poor form shown by England selecting a known injured player without contacting the club first, this is all a mountain out of a molehill if you ask me. England picked him and he goes, he gets assessed and he comes home again. It might damage his international prospects if he says he isn't going. So he goes and he has a smile on his face. The shit really hits the fan though if he plays.
