Mancini safe, Khaldoon told the players in the dressing room after the game, message already through to much of media - Fella at the Telegraph in article I put up before clearly knew as well as 5Lies. An interview with Khaldoon this afternoon will confirm Mancini's position.

Good move to confirm it, now get it up on the official site and then we can get on with planning properly

I'd laugh if they commit to him yet we fail to beat West Ham on Sunday and finish 6th! 2 places off his target.

We didn't have a hope of winning last night with that performance. How many chances did we create?

Think we had over ten shots on target. Fair few I'd say.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Johnson's two shots? Adebayor missing the goal by inches. Toure's header. Do I need to go on?

I read every week you saying how we didn't have shot on target. I'm starting to wonder whether you sleep half the game?

No, no, no, no, no. Get it right. We were clearly, rightly and justly beaten. Some cunt in the grauniad said so so it must be true.

And btajim, if we draw, we will finish 5th unless Villa win by, ooh let's see, the mere bagatelle that is fifteen goals.

does it really matter, the better side won.

mancini has been outclassed by moyes (twice), pulis, harry & ferguson all in games we should have got something from.

He certainly was.

But once he has the chance to mould his own team, we'll make champions league football next season, no doubt in my mind.

I just hope his football next season is more to my liking.

I am thinking, why don't we just fire a manager everytime we lose? Make it simple, you stay as long as you get a win or a draw. But nor more than 3 draws in a row, and then you are gone. And then we can bring in a new manager, maybe even bring in celebrities. How about Gordon Ramsay one match, offer a free cooking lesson at half-time, or maybe Jonathan Ross, and maybe at half-time he can interview Colin Bell.

FFS people, how much better a name are we going to get? Who is going to be able to come to a club that is not in the CL that is bigger than Mancini (who as another poster said was not using "his" players)? Give him a full summer transfer window and a full season. Look at the big clubs (outside of Chelsea and their fickle owner) and the continuity of managers. Hell look at Villa, O'Neill has been there for a while, why is there so much turnover at City? Who the fuck would want this job? It is not like the prestige of Chelsea (yet), so who wants to be hired to be fired 6 months later? Unless the Special One is coming, fucking move on there is nothing to see here, and go from there.

why do you and Grob need to bring Hughes into argument? He was sorry failure who took us 10th and he is gone now. But he is gone. He has nothing to do with our future. Get it?

I hope you don't go down the same path as Grob. Easily the biggest disappointment on this site in my time.

Obviously he made some mistakes in these six months! The worst of all? He didn't find a place for Vladi Weiss. Hope he and AJ together were like a volcano playing in front with Carlitos!

If we are comparing the two managers, Mancini has failed. No argument at all about it. Hughes was sacked for a perception of the reality we now confront.

However, i cannot fucking countenance sacking yet another manager, even though i don't think that Mancini is "the man".

a right quandary.

I say just get behind him man and let him do his job. I think we'll see a much different approach to games next season when we've added a couple of box to box midfielders to the line-up and some full backs who add more offensively.

The opposite for me, mate! Mancini found all players signed by Hughes and don't forget the horrible series of draws in November and December. No argument about this for me too!

i will be behind him mate, i really want mancini to do the business for us and take us forward. i've just not seen a huge amount from him to inspire confidence. maybe it's some of the players, maybe not.

edit: my point re hughes/mancini is based on the publicly stated reasons for hughes' sacking.

No you're not. If we had won on Wednesday, you'd probably be on here calling him a hero. It was a big game and the overreaction to a win here is inversely proportional to the reaction if we lost...which we did...and we have seen the last day or do in the content of the threads.

Not really. I'm genuinely saddened about Grob. Despite not always agreeing with him, he was one of the, if not THE, best poster around here until about year ago. I used to sprint on a topic to see what he had to offer when he had posted on one. Now he has tried to adopt some sort of Dev Alahanesque clever little wind up approach which simply doesn't suit him.

We have people who never were too sharp but I KNOW Grob is one of the sharpest fellers around here who knows what he is talking about when he wants to so that's why it makes me feel so disappointed. He is like Robinho, so much talent but wasting it on secondary things.
