Maybe not having Gomez was definitely the reason that Spurs lost against Burnley. I think that's a fact.

I think it's probably a certainty.

Once Ars went 3-0 up really quick they had zip to play for; if they had needed that game Gomes woulod have played, end of.

I echo the senitiments of Doug and Slim and do wonder about the sanity of some others on here.

Okay putting aside they didn't need the points for arguments sake that's why Gomes didn't play the rest of the side was still there strongest side. A top 4 side doesn't go from 0-2 up to 4-2 down in 45 minutes without a good reason and I was just trying to put across that reason was Gomes was missing and he is the reason they have been doing so well this season. They obviously went for it I mean they were 0-2 up at half time for christ sake! People are seeing blue here too much to see that facts and actually have a discussion.

Oh dear ........... (bangs head against the wall and realises I've wasted my time stating the bleeding obvious)

I've followed mancityfans.net for a while... lots this season as I'm always intrigued by how other fans think (and it's also part of my job) and have never signed up as I've never felt a need to post.

Just wanted to save Vhero's sanity this time around.

For me - and many Spurs fans like me - Gomes has been a massive part of our success. We broke a near 100 year record last season for goals conceded at home. King was instrumental, Dawson too and we can throw Assou-Ekotto (the most underrated player in our squad) and Charlie Corluka in that too.

But Gomes has been sensational.

Spurs fans don't like to shout about it. Truth be told, I'm terrified other clubs will realise he's not a joke and actually become interested.

He was heroic against City. Could hardly walk and came out after the game hobbling like a lunatic.

Would we have won at CoMS without Gomes? The answer for me is no.

Will that do ya Vhero? :)

Hope I don't get battered for being a Yid. I have a genuine like for City. And will be putting some hard earned money on them to do something special next season if Mancini spends wisely and Roman's millions doesn't blow everyone out of the water.

I heard you had 20 players going to the world cup, I have no doubt they knew the score from the Emirates at half time, nothing to play for...switched off....Burnley played for pride, deflated as we were from the Cup Final game on Wednesday, outcome not fucking rocket science.

Thats probably why Spurs got beat on Sunday.

I gather he didn't play...

Of course, the Scum being 3-0 won't have helped matters... but Alnwick's inability to keep goal over Gomes' heroics this season (and last) will have played a bigger part than what was going on at The New Library.

Your in the CL though and we arnt, that makes me hate you.

I'll take a City 3rd, Spurs 4th now for next season!

City are going places, you don't need me to tell you guys that.

Roman's money took a while to effect the rent boys of Chelsea. I'm sure the super-impressive Khaldoon will get his wishes and City will be EPL winners by 2013.

PS - This place pisses all over bluemoon! (trying to get in the good books!)

Thanks that will do.. I know the Gooners were up at half time and it could have caused you to switch off but I doubt as professionals you would have switched off to let fucking Burnley sink you for four on purpose! I have been watching your last matches (minus last weeks as I was watching City) and Gomes has been amazing for you in every match.

Well that's that then - Spurs lost to Burnley and in turn 3rd spot in the premier league because they didn't have Gomez.

Brilliant.

Only I don't know of one keeper in world football that means as much top a team. If the difference between Burnley and Spurs is fucking Gomez then Burnley should go all out and spend their entire budget on Gomez.

Back in the premier league and into the champions league within a year. Bang. Job done.

Please lock topic.
