he has most definately not handed in a transfer request, neither has his agent on his behalf and he has not sourced any new suitors.
Billy shears is actually very reliable.
and to those of you who bring up that hughes interview watch the bloody interview, he blaimed being played out of position which he has done whenever he has been played out of position not the manager directly, never did he question any of his tehniques or ability to get the best out of him.

Stephen Ireland is an excellent player when confident. He must stay.

Now you said it chief. Judging by how happy and determined he was all last season, I'd imagine this season has disappointed nobody more than it has him.

It wasnt about him playing out of position, it was about him being asked to perform a slightly more involved role in the centre of midfield. That is very different to playing out of position - it is about him being able to adapt to different tactics - something all good players are able to do.
At the end of the day Elano got binned because he wouldnt do his shift for the team, and I strongly suspect that had Hughes still been here, d-day would be close for Ireland for exactly the same reason, because under Hughes he was simply been asked to tweak his role slightly, and after Hughes had gone, pretty much whinged like a bitch about how it is everyone elses fault but his own that he has played shit this season - yet carried on playing shit under the new gaffer.
The omens werent good, as from what I could see, Mancini was asking the same thing of him that Hughes did, so he was indirectly taking a swipe at Mancini too.
The lad needs to man up, needs to learn the different things being asked of him because the fact is, neither Hughes nor Mancini were prepared to build a team around him, and therefore he is back to where he was with Sven. I'd love him to stay, but he needs to realise that the world doesnt revolve around him until the day he is good enough to be that first name on the team sheet.
If a club is prepared to do that for him, i'd let him go - but he will then have a career fighting for league cups, as he will never get what he wants at a big club

Because he's not a whinging fuckwit on a wind up?
Please guys stop flirting, its getting pretty tedious! On the Ireland subject, it believe he will stay, would be nice for either the club or player to make an official statement denying the rumours so they can be put to bed.Niall Quinns Discopants wrote:Original Dub wrote:Niall Quinns Discopants wrote:Original Dub wrote:Grob wrote:I dont believe Ireland has asked for a transfer. I wasn't on a wind up which very mellow opening post clearly showed. It contained lot of subjects dealt individually around the board and as excellent replies by Lytham and Bob on this topic (meant for the other one) showed that there was a need for such topic. Until you came and ruined it AGAIN.
And yes, you have to keep some consistency of what you abuse people for. Otherwise some people might think that you are only on a wind up yourself trying to cause mayhem. But that can't surely be the case? So go on and abuse Grob.

Is it possible that he is in Bahama's with his missus like all the footballers who aren't preparing for the World Cup?
