Valencia president Manuel Llorente has confirmed that talks have taken place with Manchester City over the possible £25 million transfer of Spain winger David Silva.

City chief executive Garry Cook, who returned from a business trip to Spain on Friday night with football administrator Brian Marwood, had been due to meet Llorente in Valencia on Thursday before re-scheduling for a later date.

Llorente said: “The news is true. City got in touch with us asking for a meeting, but then they informed us that they could not come and that they intend to do so a little further down the line."

Quotes and all.

Real Madrid Director Puts Blockers On Manchester City Move For Gonzalo Higuain

Real Madrid director general Jorge Valdano insists Manchester City's number one summer target Gonzalo Higuain is not for sale.

The Argentine hit-man is currently locked into a contract dispute with the Spanish club, having finished as their top-scorer during the 2009-10 season to steer them to second place in the La Liga.

It is believed the former River Plate forward earns only £15,000-a-week at the Bernabeu, and it's been reported he's haggling over new terms with the Blancos amid interest from the Citizens.

However, despite the on-going wage disputes Valdano has ruled out any sale for the 22-year-old prolific goal scorer.

"[Gonzalo] Higuain is under contract for three more years and he set the benchmark last season," he said according to the Daily Mail.

"He is not for sale."

Manchester City are believed to be looking to add more firepower to their ranks as they prepare to launch a serious bid for the Premier League title next season.

http://Www.sport.es

it would appear Ibra is a yes, or looking positive anyway but noes have concerns about the weather! Toure has turned down a move, and when we enquirer about Dani Alves we were told the jokeshops down the road ...basically

I don't know if our Spanish chaps can concur???

The article also states we would be looking to have Ade, Tevez and Ibra (dzeko?) all playing up front.

Whether this would be as a 4-3-3 or Tevez playing at the front of a midfield diamond, who knows!??

according to Gazzetta dello Sport we've signed dzeko for 35 mil euros

http://www.milannews.it/?action=read&idnotizia=25924

its really really hard to be calm whenever a player of his quality is being linked with us.

Any quotes in there mate?

Edit:

According to the Gazette of the Sport, in newspaper stand quest' today, Dzeko would be nearest the company with the Manchester City. According to the sport daily paper, the English square would be disposed to pay the clause of 40 million, also to carry the Bosnian in England. The Wolsfburg will embed approximately 35 million euro and the player will sign a quinquennial one from 4,8 million euro. To how much the Milan seems will have to raise flag white woman and, second the ' rosea' , with the lacked purchase Dzeko it will be aimed at the reaffirmation of Huntelaar.

What?

What?

it says we've signed dzeko for 35 mil euros and will sign for 5 years with 4.8 mil euros wage. it also says milan gave up because they can't afford him(wolfsburg are apparently interested in huntelaar and milan offered huntelaar+cash for dzeko ).

AC Milan need more cash than the 30 ml euros Fininvest will give for this market. My own opinion is that Huntelaar will be certainly sold only for cash and Dzeko is too expansive for AC.

I don't belive his agent in the slightest - I wouldn't put it past McLeish to have suggested some mischievous bollox to his agent either

I'll tell you what I find fishy as foook - the Valencia president telling the press that we had a meeting but postponed.

He wasn't telling the press, he was telling Madrid to get the finger out.

Also, what is a good enough reason to postpone negotiating for David Silva? I can't think of one off hand. What we did with Palacios in order to get a free run for Bellamy is what goes on all the time IMO and its going on right now.

If I was to hazard a guess, I'd say its something along the lines of us wanting Higuain, Madrid not wanting to sell, so we make a move on Silva who Madrid want... knowing that city even entering talks will push his price up.

I'd LOVE to just watch one full transfer take place. There's so much more to it than we'll ever know.

I just think its Cookie Monster fucking things up as he probably insists on being there for all transfers which is fair enough but he doesn't know who to go for first. They are using the situation though to let the world know Silva is available and somebody interested so they better hurry there arses up if they plan on putting a bid in. We just better hope nobody bigger like Real comes in with a bid now for Silva or we won't get him.
