Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Rooney, Lamps, SWP & Lennon seriously need a rethink.

Green was unfortunate though top keepers don't make these kind of mistakes.

Really need to improve.

Awful.

They missed Barry like I would miss having hole in my arse.

Ive never seen a more overated one trick pony than Lampard.

Green shouldnt have been in there in the first place.

I'd have gambled with King but it wasnt to be.

Heskey is fucking shocking.

Awful.

Capello looks to have lost the plot at the vital moment. We hould have smashed an average American side tonight.

If one more person says Heskey does other important things other than score Ill fucking do my nut.

Maybe I have it all wrong as I was under the impression that first and foremost a forward is there to fucking score goals and not to draw players away or hold the ball up..bolloks..first and foremost your there to fucking score and that useless lump could'nt score in a brothel with a million quid.

We will never ever ever win jack shit with Heskey in the starting line up.....ever.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

"Average" American side? I'll grant you, that on paper, England is superior.

But on the field.. it's a completely different story, as was witnessed today. Chemistry counts for a lot. England did not have it for the most part, today.

"England is superior" only in the sense that we have better individual players. As a team I thought we were pretty dire.

You were "lucky" only in the sense that:

a) Tim Howard repeatedly did what he was paid to do....stop shots and
b) Our forwards were wasteful in their finishing and did all they could to ensure that a) went to plan and
c) Our keeper made a childlike howling error that most youth team keepers could have saved with one eye closed

Some of our star players are either thick as pigshit or have egos so out of control that they cannot follow instructions.

I agree that we missed Barry enormously as it is now patently obvious that Fat Frank and Stevie Meee cannot play together in any useful sense of the word without the anchoring Gareth provides. Time and time again they were both dropped deep, forcing Shrek to come foraging back for the ball and meaning that we were not having him stretching and pulling the USA back line out of position.

I'm sure the game plan wasn't for the ball to be banged in to Heskey and for Rooney, Lampard and Gerrard all to be constantly fucking miles away from him.....

Fucktards.

Agree with comments made elsewhere....King was a gamble but worth it in the circumstances, Lennon was poor, as was Milner, Carragher should have stayed retired as he looks like a "Richard Dunne-esque red card" waiting to happen.....and Heskey....well fuck me, he really is terrible. Thought so in 2002 in South Korea/Japan and my opinion stays the same.....useful in lots of senses but individually...fucking hopeless

Are you on drugs??? it wasn't hot atall, you could see the players breath in was that cold.

Without reiterating what Mark and Carl have said on the heat, we play ALGERIA, not angola. Please don't use the words "us" and "we" when talking about England, you are a fucking embarrassment and we've already had our fill last night.

Priceless

Some new info for you McLaren

What are the seasons in the southern hemisphere?

Answer

They are "opposite" of the northern hemisphere. When it is summer in the north, it is winter in the southern hemisphere. Therefore autumn in the northern would be spring in the southern, winter in the N would be summer in the S, spring in the N would be fall in the south.

Summer is December - March
Autume is March - June
Winter is June - September
Spring is September - December

I would like to add that you were completely outplayed in that game and the fact you were playing two keepers should be looked into by FIFA.

It was pretty much as I expected apart from the howler tbh. I fully expected the USA to score but not like that!

Imo it was a decent performance for the 1st game & important not to lose. US did well but England were better & should have won. Capello knows about tournament play & if England are to do well in this one, it will be by gritting it out like the Germans & Italians do, not by hammering everybody. It was a much better 1st game than England's usual showing & there's not much wrong that can't be fixed.
My biggest worry other than the keepers, is that we're relying on two of the slowest most overrated defenders in the country; King & Carragher. Should have taken Dawson. The loss of camel gob could decide it.

Was there anyone on the planet who thought Heskey would score?

I would have expected Rob Green to have a better shot at scoring that one.

If you look at the line up last night, its basically barely changed in the last 6 years. Square pegs round holes, best players all on the pitch, not making the best team.

He should have taken Johnno and not SWP.

He should play 4-5-1 in the next game with Rooney on his own and Gerard up supporting him.

King shouldnt have been taken in the first place. His record says it all. Playing a possible 8 (?) games in a month, more than 2 a week, we already know he can't do that.

Goal keeper isnt that important, all 3 are good keepers, all 3 have weaknesses and will make mistakes. Seaman had a lobbing weakness, Shilton couldnt save penners or jump, James has crazy moments, Hart is very young still.

So if the biggest criticism that people can lay on Hart is that he is very young, will that cost us more points than 'can't catch a simple shot that is weak as piss, rolling along the ground from 40 yards and spills it into the net'?

I don't see his age being a negative, I think if he plays and plays well, we might solve a problem position for the next 4 world cups.

i can't imagine the logic of not playing the (arguably) best keeper in the Prem last season. It just boggles the mind, doesn't it? INTL experience? Fucl me...Rob Green's barely played either. It was just stupid. Thank fucl tho it wasn't Hart making that tragicomedy mistake. Interesting to see if Green ever recovers from that. As of late, recovery from highly publicized goalkeeping gaffes under the bright lights goes usually only one way. See: Foster, Ben and Carson, Scott. You might argue that Paul Robinson has had a reasonable return to form. I probably wouldn't, but...

Where's Walmai?
