What are you BTAJim now? I'm just going to say that I'm not one bit happy about Platt appointment. Hopefully he acts only as some sort of translator and has no real involvement with football things. He is a complete mong when it comes to football knowledge. AND a rag.

Hi Garry,I just wanted to shake your hand and ask you a question.I go to COMS as mucha as possible but sometimes I cannot leave the house as Sophie.....sorry..Sophie is my Cat...... needs a carer when Im away and sometimes I cannot find one.
My question is ; Is it possible to bring Sophie to matches at COMS in her kitten box and can she come in for free?

Whereas on this occasion people have showed great pleasure of Platt appointment?
Most Managers bring their own Backroom Staff with them. The difference here being that Platt has never worked for Mancini as a Coach.

I gave Hughes time and was impressed by the way he conducted himself on behalf of the club. I also felt that it would take time to move our club from the starting point to where we wanted to be. I thought, given time, that Hughes could do it.
Platt has a record of failure and also has very publically attacked our club. Like Hughes, I will give him time to prove me wrong.
Something that does disturb me is that as we aim for the very top, we will only achieve success if everyone is pulling in the same direction. That includes Owners, management, players...and fans!
Nobody ever won a tug of war whle there were members of the team pushing the rope.

This is where I disagree with you, John. Imagine someone had been kicking you in the bollocks for the last 10 years. Would you honestly shake the Guy's hand, buy him a Pint and give the Man time to prove you and your initial misgivings wrong? I've heard of turning the other cheek - but to expect anything positive out of a negative situation is naive. David Platt has previously said unsavoury things about City and has a very poor record in Football in a non-Playing capacity. It's not particularly likely that he's going to be a positive thing for us.
By your theory, you'd have been welcoming all the duff Players and Managers that have passed through the revolving door at Manchester City.

Most certainly, you are correct and I agree totally with the scenario that you have conjured up from your very active imagination. Though what the fuck any of it had to do with anything I posted, only you may be able to find a link to.
In this instance, we are presented with a fait accompli. The deed is already done and Platt, like or not has already been employed by our club. Personally, I don't thing it was a wise choice of coach and like you, see nothing in his record to commend it. However, we had no control over his employment.
I merely pointed out that if this club is to move onwards and upwards, it will only happen if all parts of the club are pulling in the same direction. I drew the tug of war analogy to your attention.
In the past, whenever City fans have rebelled vocally and demonstrated their lack of support for anyone at the club, it has been at a time when the club was on a downwards trend, and such demonstrations were calling for change to stop that downwards trend. At present, we are on an upwards trend, Anything that could destabilise that should be avoided.
...and no, I don't welcome Platt, I merely feel that we are stuck with him.

Whether we disliked him because he is a mune or because we just didn't think he was up to the job we were met with, almost universal, calls to 'get behind him' and 'give him time' etc etc etc
Now that platt has joined our club it seems that pretty much everybody is against the idea (and quite rightly so imo).
So, I was just wondering if those who called for us to get behind hughes but are now saying they disagree with the signing of platt could explain the difference please?
Are you guilty of double standards or is there a glaring difference between the 2 that I have missed?
Thanks

So the answer to my question, rather predictably, is that nobody is guilty of double standards and I have just misunderstood the situation.
Ok then.
