Steve Bruce hoping to get permission to talk to Stephen Ireland next week

Thats from Twitter. A move to Sunderland would be a bit of a comedown from Arsenal or the others he was perhaps hoping for. Personally if ireland wants to leave City it confirms my suspicions that he's nuts, and for Sunderland?

If the best he can get is Sunderland, he'd be far better off trying to regain his form at City. If he struggled in his 1st season at Sunderland, which could easily happen amongst a fairly average bunch, his standing as a potential top player would be gone. A few good games for City & the top clubs would take notice again.

Reja seeks end to Kolarov saga

Lazio boss Edy Reja wants full-back Aleksandar Kolarov's future to be resolved in the near future so he can plan for next season.

Kolarov, 24, had been tipped to move to Real Madrid, but Manchester City now look to be leading the race and Reja recently said a deal to take the player to Eastlands was "in the finishing straight".

However, Lazio president Claudio Lotito has now claimed he has yet to receive a formal bid from City and Reja admits the uncertainty is unhelpful.

"He's been destined to leave for about a month now and yet he is still here," he said. "We still haven't sorted out where he will be playing and I hope that a final decision will be made soon. We need to understand whether he will leave or whether he will be staying.

"It's clear that if we sell him then we do need an alternative in that part of the pitch. However, I don't want players to be signed until other players have been sold.

"I've got around 26 or 27 players at this moment in time and we need to get rid of some because I don't want to be managing a squad of 30."

I sometimes wonder if Chairman drag these things out so that the manager does not have time to spend the money.

Nery Castillo, anyone remember this guy? He cost Shakhtar 15m euro (and City supposedly 5m for the loan spell, although he allegedly paid some of it himself) is off to the MLS for nothing. At 26 years of age. What a career.

Yeah. It would've been dead hilarious if it wasn't so sad. Another warning that people shouldn't make judgement on players ability accroding to one individual tournament. He DID look great in that one Copa America.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

It's like poker though isn't it? Lazio know we have money and are trying to squeeze as much as possible. We know that Lazio have been descibed as a 'dead man walking', and dont have a pot to pee in. So they desperately want something off us and cant afford to lose the deal. Personally I think the runes say this is a done deal and it will be announced shortly!

Kolarov is already a City player, according to this:

http://www.vavel.es/internacional/kolar ... _5893.html

I have no idea who Vavel.es are, and the last I heard marwood and co are back on the first flight to Italy this morning, but:

KOLAROV IS ALREADY A CITY PLAYER. Alexander Kolarov, the left sided Serb who interested Real Madrid before the world cup, has left Lazio to join Mancini's Manchester City. The transfer has been completed at €20.5 and makes the club's 4th signing this window after Boateng, Touré and Silva. Kolarov arrives in Manchester to replace Wayne Bridge, not rated by Mancini. The Serb is 24 and indisputeable left back for Serbia, with whom he was eliminated in the first round of the world cup, his first.

Sounds promising John - I hope it's true. I can't believe how boring all this waiting for news is - I never realised how impatient I've become! Get on with it City! :o)

Rumours seeping through that Mancini wants all our in-business done before Friday's match in New York, obviously so he can have a settled squad to work with. The people we have made offers to know this, and that they have to take the cash asap. 3 new players should be with us before Friday.

The only exception to this would be the much-sought-after 'show-stopper', but then we never seem to get them do we?

Ozil impressed and unimpressed me at the world cup.

Went missing in the big games which for me is a big big worry.

We have Silva now anyways to be our creative player. I doubt very much Ozil is still on our radar.
