dont get me wrong , i was pissed off AGAIN with the performance last night but i seem to remember back in the season we got promoted we lost every game pre season. im sure it was that year.Ted Hughes wrote:9secondlegend wrote:i think one reason why everyone is so dissapointed is because friendlies these days are so high profile and we dont like getting shown up on the world stage. if it wasnt on tv and we lost to some swedish team although some would still be pissed off i dont the reactions would be half as bad
Whatever spin anyone puts on it, top teams don't usually look as poor in freindlies as City have. Occasionally yes but 4 games on the trot? Absolutely not. That's a fact whether people like it or not.

it is very worrying but to be honest who actually thought we were going to go over and everything would run smoothly with great performances and loads of goals. this is city , it doesnt happen like that.

I don't know who thought we were going to go over with everything running smoothly with great performances & loads of goals but it certainly wasn't me. I just expected a level of competence & promise.
I was fullsome in my praise of the 1st game, everything looked spot on & we had a definite plan. Since then it's gone to pieces, we've fucked it up by messing around too much & the players are confused & uncertain. My hopes lie in the new players kick starting us because atm we're not right, not at all. There is a problem & it needs solving immediately before it's too late.

Spot on IBH.
Its called pre-season for a reason, it means sweet fa. We can lose all the remaining pre-season games and i won't be fussed as long as we turn up firing on all cylinders on August 14th.

exactly.
If we turn up first game of the season AND our fitness is spot on march onwards, preseason will have been success. Generally, often when we have done well in preseason we have had disappointing season and vice versa.
What I've really been disappointed this preseason is how youngsters and fringe players haven't really stepped up and showed what they are capable of to manager.
