really want us to get in a group with an away leg vs

Olympiakos
AEK Athens
Fenerbache
Palermo
Besiktas
Maccabi Haifa

I would love a cheeky away trip to any of that lot....although....a bit hairy in a couple of cases!!

We'd have to get to group stages first.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

It's possible. Everything's possible in football. If we draw Juventus, I will not be all that sure you know.

And no, it'd be madness to sack manager before season has properly kicked off. Although I know few people who have been sharpening their knives since he was appointed.

We won't draw Juve, both teams will be seeded.

Are you a new city supporter?

Oh my! What gave me away?!

No.
Roberto Mancini was the man who brought us our first trophy in 35 years. He was the man that brought us our first league title in 44 years. He brought us one of the greatest moments of our lives. He masterminded a 6-1 win at Old Trafford, and a Wembley win over United. He challenged Ferguson, he argued with him on the touchline, he brought success, and he punched the air in delight with the rest of us at the madness of it all. He had style, panache and a winning smile. All those memories he gave us will never be forgotten, in a wonderful period in this club’s long history.
And I swear, we’ll never see anything like it again.

I hate the Europa cup and like you will have very little interest in it till the last 16.

We should win this. Questions should be asked if we dont.

Given that we have only played in Europe twice in the last 30 years - in 03-04 and 08-09 - i am certainly looking forward to it.

There are alot of good sides and big names in the competition and to be arrogant enough to think that if we don't win it, then serious questions should be asked, is wide of the mark for me.

We got to the Quarter-Finals in 2008-09 and so I'm looking for us to at least reach there again. Importantly it will help the side grow in European Competition together as a unit, if we do well it will boost our European co-efficient points ranking, which in the long-run will determine which pot we will be in should we be in the European Cup/Champions Lge next season.

Hopefully we don't have the situation like 2 years ago, where the attendances for the home cup-ties in Europe were largely disappointing and the third tiers were closed except the Hamburg game.

17,200 v FC Midtjylland, August 2008
25,304 v AC Omonia, October 2008
21,247 v FC Twente, November 2008

26,018 v FC Copenhagen, February 2009
24,596 v Aalborg, March 2009
47,009 v Hamburg, April 2009

I am also looking forward to it mate and can't understand how people can be bored of it!!

As for the attendances, I think I'm right in saying every game at Eastlands has attracted over 20k which isn't bad compared to a lot of other clubs in the same competition!

exactly....fuck me I've been desperate to see shit like this most of my city supporting life

I could really not remotely comprehend the ambivalence the other year.....i loved those nights at Eastlands. They were only slightly spoilt by poor crowds....but it was still class

More city matches....chilly midweek nighttime kick offs....a few beers....wtf is not to like??

I can't understand the apathy towards the Europa league. It's the chance to see City test ourselves against other European clubs. It's not as if we are being poitted against Doncaster, brighton or Forest, is it?

I can't wait for it to start.
